I see a boatload of OLD URLS for Obozo's Inaugural Cake; mostly including a plethora of rich liberal celebrities...

Nothing about Trump's inaugural cake though (surprise, surprise). Like many of you I will be celebrating at home this Friday after eight loooooonnnnnnnggggggg years of tax paying worker oppression.

Hors 'd'oeuvres are on the menu, champagne (domestic sparkling wine) and Trump Inaugural Cigars! And yes there will be fireworks!

Here are some of the nauseating cuisine websites that I've found so far (although I like Duff Goldman as a person)

Oh, and you can get your inaugural cigars here: https://tedscigars.com/collections/the-trump-2016-cigar

I wonder if any cake bakers would decline making a celebratory Trump inauguration cake.

Not sure of my entire menu for the day, but definitely apple pie with wedges of cheese on the side for dessert.

Yeah, wonder if Charm City Cakes has received death threats for entertaining the thought of making a Trump cake.

We visited Mt. Vernon last March (in case it would be destroyed and we would all be on prayer rugs under Comrade Hillary)

I have to tell you, the revisionistic prog agenda was in full force at both Jefferson’s home and Washington’s home (we visited both)

I’ll check out the website!

Bill Clinton’s was the first White House to have a website. There was historical data on each administration and yes the Clintonian government propaganda was full of partisan references to how horrible things had been under GHW Bush and how awesome Bubba BJ Clinton was.

The Clintonian years also similarly politicized the US Postal Service with a series of stamps reflecting on the 20th century. Each decade was represented by a sheet of stamps. “Home viewers” got to vote on some of the subjects covered on the stamps but the entire bent of the reflection was liberal (and there was one stamp dedicated to Clinton’s stock boom).

I think Trump should ask Hillary who baked her victory cake, you know the one she wrecked. Just like he offered her 50 cents on the dollar for her fireworks.

I vote for this! Classic American apple pie. Use Pennsylvania apples and Wisconsin cheddar. Or even better, incorporate an agricultural product from the states on the thank you tour.

If we are going in that direction, the only question is what states BBQ do we use?

Why do you have to choose only one? Even here in North Carolina, where pulled pork barbecue with pepper vinegar sauce is almost sacrosanct, there are quite a few barbecue “agnostic” restaurants that have been very successful. Serve them all. NC pulled pork, Texas brisket, KC ribs and all the awesome goodness of what really should be the Thanksgiving meal in this country, it’s our original food, learned from the native tribes, just add Elizabethan “catsup” which was more like herbs and spices, preserved in vinegar. The sweet sauces came later, as pioneers and barbecue moved west and sugar became less of a rarity.

We’ve been to Monticello. We had a very good guide. PC was minimal. Mount Vernon is next on our list to visit :-)

Let’s call it “Big Tent BBQ” - there’s room for everyone! But personally I’d lean towards Texas for BBQ, because we can get peach dumplings with orange bourbon caramel sauce from the southern states :-)
