State Attorney General Maura Healey’s office and a Worcester gun dealer have settled a case that involved selling handguns that were not Massachusetts-compliant.
The Gun Parlor has agreed to end sales of handguns that do not meet state-mandated safety regulations, specifically load indicators and magazine safety disconnects, and pay $10,000 in fees and costs associated with an investigation into the store while $25,000 in fines will remain outstanding and will be waived if the shop remains in compliance for two years.
“In Massachusetts, we rely on gun dealers to help ensure responsible gun ownership and use by following the law,” Healey said in a statement Monday. “Today’s agreement requires this Worcester gun dealer to come into compliance with our firearm safety laws and regulations, and do its part to prevent access to unsafe and illegal weapons in our communities.”
The Gun Parlor was investigated by Healy’s office, who found numerous violations of state law including failing to verify the guns sold to law enforcement and military were being used for official duties and did not provide required safety warnings to customers who bought short-barreled handguns. However, the primary focus of Healey’s investigation was into the Glocks sold by the store.
As noted by the Worcester Telegram, over a one-year period beginning in July 2014, the Gun Parlor sold nine Glocks that did not meet the Commonwealth’s handgun safety regulations. Further, between 2013 and 2015 the store sold four guns not on the approved roster.
The Gun Parlor is notable for being the first shooting range in Worcester since 2008, though it met opposition from some community activists when the business opened.
While the store has not issued a comment, a crowdfunding campaign has been launched seeking to raise the $10,000 fee agreed to by the gun dealer.
Healey, who was given a green light last October by a county court to investigate Glock over customer complaints of accidental discharges, is currently involved in a federal lawsuit with the firearm industry’s leading trade association and four gun stores over her interpretation of what constitutes an “assault weapon” under state law.

I disagree. If a state for example passed a low that forbid criticism of the government it would quickly be challenged in the courts. Second Amendment by being explicitly stated in federal bill of rights should trump state matters (Heller in DC)

There’s been a lot of talk about negligent discharges with Glocks, but no, they do not ever fire unless you press the trigger. They are one of the guns designed to meet extremely stringent military drop tests. If your Glock fires, is is because you pulled the trigger.

This is correct. In simpler terms, An accidental discharge can be caused by your failure to “hold it” which san be related to internal problems, poor diet. A negligent discharge is when you knew that fart felt wet, but you gunned it anyway...
Hopefully AFTER Trump has packed it with new conservatives. Just a conservative Scalia replacement is not adequate. Hopefully Ginsberg and Kennedy will retire soon. I would not be sorry to see Roberts go either, but that sniveling coward is too young, as is Kagan and Soto-Mayor.

But since many of these state AG's have gone beyond the bounds of the U.S. Constitution, the USSC needs to finally clarify the intent of the 2nd Amendment.
Double action. The firing pin is only partially back when a round is chambered. The pin moves rearward as the trigger is pulled — and then releases. Glocks are DAO triggers.
“Accidental Discharge” is, 99% or so of the time, a blame-shifting euphemism for “Negligent Discharge.”
We should all push back when AD is used, and ND is appropriate. I have been doing so for around 15 years at least.
No it's not. MA publishes a roster of guns not approved for sale in the Commonwealth. The Dept. of Public Safety publishes it and the AG draws it up based on certain specifications of a number of firearms.
If this gun shop was selling items on the unapproved list then he was asking for trouble. There aren't many that will do that. It's just stupid.
As for the list itself...a crock of shite for sure.
DAO’s have a fairly long pull, before the trigger breaks, and are generally fairly heavy (5.5-7lbs) in my experience. Striker fired have a lighter pull weight, and the take up is fairly short,and non-existent on the reset. Why can’t we just describe them as they are,ie:,SA,Da/Sa,DAO,and striker fired.
Despite Trump and the Republican Congressional and gubenatorial wins, we are still going to have a very tough fight on our hands for our freedom.
Yeah, I get that, but that still doesn't mean the operator did anything wrong. Case in point, one of my Stryker vehicle commanders charged his M2 while we were rolling out the gate for a patrol in Iraq. The bolt slammed forward, as it's supposed to, and a round fired into a nearby building. It turned out some piece or other (I'm definitely not an armorer) had worn down allowing the firing pin to strike the round's primer. He was totally cleared of any potential wrongdoing as it was an AD, not an ND.
A Natural Right regulated is a Natural Right denied.
My Glock 23 has a fairly long pull. They are definitely a striker pistol, but I remember the write-ups describing the trigger type as DAO.
