Hollywoods 2017 Pity Party officially began last night with the annual Golden Globes Award Show.
And the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award went to Meryl Streep! Her acceptance speech was everything you could expect from a former Presidential Medal of Freedom winner, Kennedy Center Performing Arts Award winner and BFF to both Hillary AND Michelle:
After celebrating Hollywoods diversity by running through a list of foreigners working there (legally, I assure you) she noted:
So Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if we kick them all out, youll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.
No, indeed. Those would be things the Basket of Deplorables would watch. Along with NASCAR. Definitely not the arts or anything else the Hollywood brain trust would waste their time on. Butt after insulting President Elect Trump Meryl continued:
when the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose
Disrespect invites disrespect.
This brings me to the press. We need a principled press to hold power to account to call them on the carpet for every outrage.
So I only ask the famously well‑healed Hollywood Foreign Press and all of us in our community to join me in supporting the Committee to Protect Journalists because we are going to need them going forward and theyll need us to safeguard the truth.
Meryl hasnt been as dramatic, or as wrong, since her 1989 fear-fueling when are we going to stop killing our children!?campaign against Alar. Celebrities should be called to the carpet for every outrage they perpetrate on the American people as well. In my humble opinion.
When are you going to stop killing the
children truth, Meryl?
Hollywood, filled with rarified idiots, where anything and everything is likely to be on display except reality.

I know purges are for third world countries. I guess that’s good.
But still one can daydream.
Whaddyasay we quit grousing and start the process of repossessing our institutions like Arts and Entertainment from the Corrupt Lying Left. We’ll ALWAYS have Arts and Entertainment, the only question is who will be running the show.
Celebrities who make partisan political statements should expect blowback.
John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Charleton Heston, The Rat Pack all those greats wouldn’t put up with these dictator doting Marxists!
Went to Vassar College. Successfully indoctrinated at an early age.
I don’t watch any award shows. I refuse to watch a bunch of rich, pampered people get together to pat themselves on the back and give each other awards to being in awful movies and TV shows.
Those were the days......when Hollywood was a two-party town. Even the legendary movie moguls were solid all-American.
Now they're all raging liberals.
Like I posted on another thread. . .if Americans would just quit spending their $$$$ dollars on these nitwits we wouldn’t have be inundated with their nonsense.
I haven’t watched an award show in YEARS but must admit I thoroughly enjoy movies and many TV shows (other than the reality ones).
I enjoy their talents but abhor their opinions.
.
I prefer cultural marxists - it paints a clearer picture of their evil agenda!
Poor Meryl needs to take a picture of Obama and stand before the Magic Mirror with it and ask if Obama is guilty of all she said about PE Trump? The Mirror would laugh hysterically and say “You gotta to kidding me!?” “Yes! A thousand times over!” And Dimwit Meryl would scream back at the Mirror:”F*ck You you Racist, Homophobe Bast*rd!!!”
The gathering, which was hosted by Anthony Eisley, a star of ABC's Hawaiian Eye series, sought to flood the United States Congress with letters in support of school prayer, following two decisions in 1962 and 1963 of the United States Supreme Court which struck down the practice as in conflict with the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Joining Nolan and Eisley at the rally were Walter Brennan, Rhonda Fleming, Dale Evans, Pat Boone, and Gloria Swanson. At the rally, Nolan asked, "Do we permit ourselves to be turned into a godless people, or do we preserve America as one nation under God?"
Eisely and Fleming added that John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, Roy Rogers, Mary Pickford, Jane Russell, Ginger Rogers, and Pat Buttram would also have attended the rally had their schedules not been in conflict.
"Project Prayer" was ultimately unsuccessful in its campaign to keep prayer in public schools.
The Court effectively changed the interpretation of the First Amendment from freedom 'of' religion to freedom 'from' religion. The ruling was intended to prevent the state from inappropriately advancing religion in the school room.
So Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if we kick them all out, youll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts.
I disagree here totally. Add the NHL, the History Channel, TMC, Boxing, MLB. If not I’ll just read books. No big loss.
Not sure of that. Don’t watch many H-weed movies at all. On TV, the vast majority of the things I watch (not on networks, of course) are made in Canada.
One can only wait for the Big One to weed out the weed smokers.
So Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if we kick them all out,
We will have nobody to do our Laundry,Clean our Homes, and wipe our noses....
Hollywood only likes minorities when they know their proper place in society.
Sylvia Sydney---staunch Republican and conservative.
Memorable co-starring w/ George Raft.
Later appeared in one of the "Omen" sequels.
Film legend Ginger Rogers was another Hollywood conservative and lifelong Republican and appeared in the Nixon-Lodge Bumper Sticker Modorcade in Los Angeles in 1960.
Her biographers all considered Rogers to have been Fred Astaire's finest dance partner, principally because of her ability to combine dancing skills, natural beauty, and exceptional abilities as a dramatic actress and comedienne, thus truly complementing Astaire, a peerless dancer who sometimes struggled as an actor and was not considered classically handsome. The resulting song and dance partnership enjoyed a unique credibility in the eyes of audiences.
Ravishingly beautiful Loretta Young was a lifelong Republican. In 1952 she appeared in radio, print, and magazine ads in support of Dwight D. Eisenhower and was in attendance at his inauguration along with Anita Louise, Louella Parsons, Jane Russell, Dick Powell, June Allyson, and comic Lou Costello, among others.
In both 1968 and 1981 she was a vocal supporter of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. She was also an active member of the Hollywood Republican Committee with close friend Irene Dunne as well as Ginger Rogers, William Holden, George Murphy, Fred Astaire, and John Wayne.
Superstar director Leo McCarey was a devout Roman Catholic and deeply concerned with social issues. He was considered the most handsome director in Hollywood---a Cary Grant look-alike.
During the 1940s, McCarey's work became more serious and his politics more conservative. In 1944 he directed Going My Way, a story about an enterprising priest, the youthful Father Chuck O'Malley, played by Bing Crosby, for which McCarey won his second Best Director Oscar.
McCarey's share in the profits of this smash hit gave him the highest reported income in the U.S. for the year 1944, and its follow-up, The Bells of St. Mary's (1945), which was made by McCarey's own production company, was similarly successful.
Going My Way also produced the fanciful hit song sung by Bing, "Would you like to swing on a star."
Gloria Swanson 1922
Swanson's most celebrated role--was as faded silent star Norma Desmond--1950. In 1980 Gloria Swanson chaired the New York chapter of "Seniors for Reagan-Bush". In 1964, Swanson spoke at the "Project Prayer" rally attended by 2,500 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Swanson declared, "Under God we became the freest, strongest, wealthiest nation on earth, Should we change that?"
Joining Swanson and Eisley at the Project Prayer rally were Walter Brennan, Lloyd Nolan, Rhonda Fleming, Pat Boone, and Dale Evans.
Both Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were Republicans. Comic star ZaSu Pitts was a staunch Republican---she mentored starlet Nancy Davis (Reagan).
Arrogance of the left defined in one statement.
Good one.
The media whores help keep the Hollywood phonies in the limelight thus giving them the belief that they are somehow relevant, when indeed they are NOT. Who cares what the phonies have to say?
