I have one tree that I just use that fake cotton/snow looking stuff. It’s really cheap (Wal-Mart or a Dollar Store)...for a bag of it. It comes in pretty big pieces in the bag. Just pile that stuff up around the tree and...and then set a few decorations or presents on it. You probably don’t have many decorations, but even just pine cones or children’s books will work to camouflage the fakeness (is that a word?). It’s amazing how cute it actually looks. So nice of you to do. Good luck!
Put some poly-fil quilt batting around the base. It will look like snow.
I think you may be able to buy it by the foot at the craft store.
set tree and stand on a wooden platform cover with a skirt decorate below
For a ‘real’ tree, a sheet works. It also helps collect many of the dead needles that will fall out. That makes the clean-up afterward a bit easier.
Watch the Seinfield show on Festivus. Festivus is for the rest of us. Instead of cutting down a living tree or using a China made plastic one, we use an unadorned simple aluminum pole which symbolizes strength. At the meal time we have the Airing of Grievances (which have been building up all year) Ceremony (like who has been leaving the toilet seat in the up position, who didn’t turn on the exhaust fan in the bathroom and who doesn’t rinse their plate after supper). This will be a change the whole family will get into in no time.
Walmart sells tree skirts that will fit it if you are so inclined to get one. We’ve purchased a few over the years and most of them have the dimensions quite obviously displayed on the package. You’ll probably have a hard time finding one that’s too small (at least that’s been my experience).
The ones we have are probably 5 feet in diameter and weren’t all that expensive, but are generally bigger than I would prefer for the space. If you get one that’s too big you just pull it into place and muck around with it until you are happy with how it looks by tucking in the extra where it isn’t noticeable.
I’m going to stop typing now, because that last sentence could be construed in too many ways I’m not real comfortable with ;)
I use a red table cloth. It’s just the right shade of Christmas red. I just drape it around the bottom of the tree. Looks great.
You can learn from this guy on how to decorate the tree.

My tree has a very whispy, cotton-ball-like material around it that is marketed as “snow.” It comes shaped rather like a tree skirt, but is incredible stretchy, almost like Halloween “spider webs.” (But its fibers are much, much, much finer, creating almost cloud-like wisps, rather than web strands.)
Merry Christmas Yaelle! May God Bless you and your family!
And here we are wondering how to decorate a tree with a two month old kitten on the prowl..........
I think you are fine with you have and this person will be grateful
Christmas is a WONDERFUL time of year and Hannukah falls perfectly in the season....HAVE a BLESSED Holiday!!
We use either a white sheet or a festive tablecloth bunched around the bottom.
Doesn’t need to be a custom made skirt - some pieces of felt or other material will do fine - we even used to get some of the fake snow material with gold trim 0 not sure what they sell these days as we’re down to small artificial these days with no kids/grand kids around.
One more suggestion, Yaelle. My friend uses a “snow” blanket. She found it at Michaels as well. It looks like soft cotton and is usually sold in a large bag (some even has a bit of glitter to look like ice). It is somewhat fluffy and can be pushed/pulled to fit. She got the idea from her Aunt who uses the stuff to make a “Christmas Village (the little houses/trees/etc). She uses it as the snow base for the houses.
We use a sage colored flat sheet. It’s not as expensive as a regular tree skirt and is easily washed for the following year.
Well, I’m not a Jew, but I’m a big fan of Purim.
And we just use an old sheet. It’s inevitably gonna get tree sap on it, so don’t use anything fancy.
A couple of cheap white blankets wrapped around the base will look somewhat like snow. They are also useful after Christmas to keep warm.
Every Jewish person I know celebrates Christmas. Must be a mountain thing.
