“The Snake” is a song and single released by American singer Al Wilson in 1968, and written by Oscar Brown in 1963. The lyrics tell a story inspired by Aesop’s fable of The Farmer and the Viper.
Republican candidate Donald Trump read the lyrics at several campaign rallies to illustrate his position on the Syrian refugee crisis.
Trump read “The Snake” at his Bloomington, Illinois earlier this year.

There are reports this week that Mitt Romney is a leading candidate for Secretary of State in the Trump administration.
Mitt Romney was a top critic of Donald Trump during the campaign. His quotes made it into several Hillary ads against Donald Trump.
Trump supporters unanimously hate the idea.

That was actually my first reaction- the job sucks. you spend all your time on an airplane and then meeting with vacuous people you don’t like. now there are some important aspects of the job (like reading the cables from your ambassadors) and other things we don’t want the SOS doing (like back room cia deals and gun running). so I would have to wonder why, unless the object was to get him out of the picture.
the Nikki Haley appt is genius on many levels.
Romney will look for the first sign of trouble, “speak out against the horrible decision Trump is making” and use that as a starting point to primary him in 2020. How can you not think that is a strong possibility?

I was thinking same as you are when I heard about the Nikki appointment, because the Lt. Governor in S.C. is more aligned with DJT than she is. So I hope you’re also right about the freeze-out of Mittens. I hate that backstabbing POS.
You are correct, Romney is a company-turn-around-artist. But what experience he has in diplomacy? Romney could not even out-debate Candy Creepy-Crawley. He is much better suited to turn around the VA.

I see everything he is doing and hurrays all around. (I am not as tall as him.......... yeah that is why I am not a Billionaire) Love our new president from my core. It was great election night.
Then he started picking. I honest to God think I am smarter than anyone else I meet. Yeah I am a bit of an asshole. Trumps picks so far have spun my head around to where I see what he is doing. I am the Padawan to his Trump. Humor me. It has been a fun ride so far and we have not even gone up the scary part of the roller coaster.

Calm down for God's sake. Why are you believing a word the media is telling you? Do you think they have a clue? Do you think Trump feels pressured by them in any way? If he did, Bannon would be canned, Rhee would be Education Secretary, and Hillary Clinton would have been offered a position as an olive branch.

Back in the ‘70s a friend and I went shopping for some new duds for a trip to Deutschland. A salesman was assisting me in the selection of a hat. After trying on several that were too small he had the nerve to say “Son with a head that big you’ll probably need to wear a hat box.” My buddy about died laughing. Those were the salad days, now long gone.
