(From February 4, 2016) (Text Scroll Over Pictures) Palin: Cruz Campaign Lied, Used 'Dirty Tricks'

Donald Trump supporter Sarah Palin has come out swinging at Ted Cruz — accusing the Texas senator's campaign manager of "dirty tricks" for suggesting the billionaire developer bought her endorsement and calling the alleged chicanery "heartbreaking."

In a volcanic message under the headline "Dirty Politics: Witnessing Firsthand It's Always Heartbreaking, Never Surprising," the former Alaska governor and vice-presidential running mate of John McCain in 2008, Palin writes on her Facebook page:

"Thank heavens Donald Trump opened so many eyes to the lies, corruption and total lack of accountability that come so naturally to the permanent political class. And Sen. Ted Cruz was spot on when he once noted that 'millions of Americans are asking for accountability and truth.' "Which is why it's so curious — and saddens us — this lack of accountability with the lies of Cruz's own campaign."

Palin is on the warpath over suggestions that Trump, a billionaire, "bought" her endorsement. On Monday, Cruz's campaign manager Rep. Steve King suggested that when he told NBC News:"[Trump] has a massive amount of assets and resources that he can deploy when it comes time to convince someone. And that has to affect the way people think. Not only the plus-ups of the promotion, the limelight, all the resources that are there." Palin charged King with "lying."

"King, who's previously asked for and received my endorsement, time and resources to support his own election, is still lying about my altruistic support of Mr. Trump, and he's refused to provide any evidence to the contrary," Palin wrote on Facebook.

"And, this U.S. Congressman (Steve King) actually lied to his own constituents on behalf of Cruz, regarding a good man, Dr. [Ben] Carson. "He told voters Carson was dropping out of the Presidential race immediately before the Iowa caucus, causing a relative uproar inside the process, so the word would spread and he could rack up more votes for his candidate, Cruz. That's a dirty trick. Dr. Carson deserved better. The voters deserved better!"

Palin said Steve King was guilty of "very sad; typical Washington tactics."

"THIS is why 'the status quo has got to go' … We've had eight years of a reckless President, accountable to no one, pushing this country to the brink. Why would we ever take a risk repeating that?

So, you hate Cruz but you love Ryan, and Mitchell, and McCain, and Lindsey Graham and MANY more I can name because Ted Cruz is the greatest threat in the universe, even compared to known GOPe sellouts. Even though Cruz has now met with Trump and gone on the campaign trail?

Pretty clear to me who is cray cray looney tunes.

Read online Guiliana is going to be Secretary of State, and that Cruz and Trump were discussing Cruz for Attorney General. But early days.

There are some here who will never get past the primary...

They don’t trust President Elect Trump. They seem to think they are smarter and more capable than he or Pence.

Belief trumps facts on this point. Cruz’s people did their jobs and then corrected themselves to the voters when they found out otherwise. I also read that Rubio’s and Trump’s people did the same but the mention of Trump was scrubbed and the one Rubio tweeter took personal responsibility which somehow removed responsibility from the rest of Rubio’s team. From now on, screencaps will be better employed during the election season.

Good grief, enough of your crap. Trump is a big boy. He can decide who he wants to reconcile with. And neither Cruz nor King have EVER BEEN GOPe. Get a grip.

"Last night when our political team saw the CNN post saying Dr. Carson was not carrying on to New Hampshire and South Carolina, our campaign updated the grassroots leaders just as we would with any breaking news story. That's fair game," Cruz said in a statement. "What the team should have done is send around the follow-up statement from the Carson campaign clarifying that he was indeed staying in the race when that came out. That was a mistake from our end, and for that I apologize to Dr. Carson."

So then what exactly did Cruz apologize to Dr. Carson for not doing? That's a rhetorical question BTW.

Fact trumps belief.

You act as though The Conservative Treehouse didn’t expose Cruz as GOPe back in, what, September of last year?

Love Conservative Treehouse.

Listen, I’ll end my spat with you on this note. Before Trump even made serious rumblings about running, Ted Cruz was my guy. Once Trump entered the race, I was intrigued, but not convinced he was in it for the long haul, and besides, he and Cruz were like bosom buddies for months.

I thought that was a good strategy on both their parts. Cruz let Paul, Perry, Jindal, Jeb! etc take on the Trumpster, all to disastrous effect for their campaigns.

But seeing how the final four (Dr. ben was fading quick) was Marco, Kasich (who should have dropped out), Cruz and Trump, it was inevitable that the buddy-show was going to end, and it did.

It was vicious. It was personal. There were lies thrown around wantonly, deceptive ads, deceptive PACs, etc etc. It happens EVERY PRIMARY. It was completely expected and completely brutal. Trump wins handily. Wounds need to heal.

By this time I was on Trump’s wagon, largely because of his repeated, strong agenda, and partly because the Cruz team (not just Cruz, but some of his disgusting surrogates like Amanda Carpenter) acted like asses.

However, Perry, Jindal, Paul and Marco also acted like even bigger, more vicious asses at points in the campaign. Yet, they each fulfilled their pledge to support Trump, and Trump was Gracious in receiving their support.

Cruz dragged it out til the last minute, but finally fulfilled his pledge (unlike Jeb!, Goober Kasich, and Graham ). Trump, once again, graciously accepted Cruz’ support. Trump knows Cruz is smart and that they need to be on the same team if they are to get the agenda enacted.

We as spectators, can choose never to forgive and forget. We are entitled to that. It is much tougher for a president to cling to that, because his whole purpose in life is now to enact the promised agenda, or he will be considered a failure. And Trump cannot have major fractures with fellow conservatives, because it will be they, not the RINOs (of which there are many) who will carry the day for Trump in the House and Senate.

Ted Cruz never had a real mathematical path to the White House and his campaign lied to The Conservative Treehouse about it.

Read their “GOPE ROADMAP” articles; Cruz was in it for his old family friends the Bushes. The viciousness was because their plans were all foiled. Cruz's attack on Palin was most alarming and revealing.

Yes, Cruz's campaign lied to The Conservative Treehouse about having the math to make it to the White House. GOPe pulled strings for Cruz around that time, and got George Will to write some lame article about how Cruz had a pathway.

But he never did. He was a spoiler for Jeb. Why else was Neil Bush on his campaign?

There were clues about Cruz's fake Tea Party position going back to 2013, but not tonight. Thank you for your post.

Your quote makes your question more pointless than rhetorical. Cruz apologized for a mistake, not for a dirty trick. Carson wasn’t even close to winning and his supporters were unlikely to switch to Trump.

No, no it doesn’t. But you can keep your head in your butt if you like.

I don’t really care.

Cruz was running the way Conservative Treehouse always said he was running... for Jebbie.

You just look ridiculous when you make silly statements like that.

CNN implied that Carson was dropping out. They later corrected it. When that information came out, and when teh follow-up came out, the people were already voting.

I know you are all highly invested in this idea that Trump got cheated out of Iowa, but it’s just not true.

No, Ted Cruz’s campaign personal said he was dropping out.

And then they told voters that while they were voting.

I don’t give a flying rip if Trump won Iowa. Trump is the president. He won the whole shootin’ match, bud.

What I do care about is you lyin’ for Lyin’ Ted.

He didn’t earn that nickname fer nothin’.

Now quit lying to me before you piss me off, you aren’t going to rewrite history here, maybe you should go where the others of your kind hang out.

Do you understand what went down with The Conservative Treehouse and Cruz?

Who cares how we “look” on FR? Why would you make a statement like that?

This is about the truth. Grow up/grow some.

They seem pretty intent on undoing what Ted did, but they can’t, because it is known history.

Everyone around here paid real close attention. Real close.
