Depressing poll of the day (Media is concerned)
The Politico's Morning Money ^ | October 14, 2016 | Ben White and Andrew Hanna

DEPRESSING POLL OF THE DAY — The latest Marketplace-Edison Research survey shows economic anxiety is up to 36 from 30 a year ago (the scale runs 0-100). But that’s not the depressing part of the poll’s findings. It’s this: 25 percent of Americans “completely distrust the economic data reported by the federal government, including statistics like the unemployment rate, the number of jobs added, and the amount of consumer spending.” Perhaps unsurprisingly, that number soars to 48 percent of Donald Trump supporters compared to just 5 percent of Hillary Clinton supporters.

Trump’s constant railing about phony economic numbers as well as his citing vast conspiracy theories that an international cabal (including global bankers) is bent on stealing the election from him certainly can’t be helping. Trump tripled down on these theories in a dark speech in Florida on Wednesday that sounded to MM very similar to the coded nationalist, anti-Semitic rhetoric spouted by Father Charles Coughlin on the radio in the 1930s. Dark times, indeed.

The survey also found that 62 percent of Americans believe the economy is “rigged” in favor of certain groups. Full findings and methodology are here....

It is. Crony capitalists at the top and welfare ne'er do wells at the bottom. The middle class is screwed.

How many social security recipients believe the government’s inflation numbers?

Nobody is that dumb.

I don’t believe this poll either.

Politico must be reading an old memo. 'Dark' has already been used and discarded.

It’s nice we’re starting to have doubts. I read an article in Barron’s by Alan Abelson, a columnist and editor for the periodical, who said anyone making large investment decisions using government numbers was out of his mind.

This was about forty years ago.

And 94% of people don’t trust the media to tell us the truth about the stuff the government has been lying to us about.

It’s amazing how utterly stupid the average Democrat is. They will believe anything that is told to them without spending a minute on reflection. No wonder this country is going to hell, with lemmings like this.

They should distrust the data.

I think big government and big business have worked together to cook the books.

I’ve heard that one major corporation whose major shareholders gave big money to Clinton and the Dems kept up a furious pace of hiring potentially tens of thousands of people being hired each month with many of them lasting only a short time.

This hiring campaign went from June to September.

We know that the “unemployed” are not counted once they stop looking for work. Because .. you have to fill out paperwork and state your search for work, in order to get your unemployment check.

With 92 million people not working .. that would certainly not allow for a 5.4 unemployment rate.

Over half of all Americans believe that our government is corrupt; that our economy is gone; that our health care is zero; that the people that we elect to do OUR work is more corrupted than Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini combined...

We do not believe in the media, we do not believe in the newspapers, what there are left of them, we do not believe in the talking heads on t.v.; radio show hosts...

There is, however, one thing that is happening and it hasn't happened like this for quite a while...people are turning to God more and more every day...because we know He is the one that will save us...

The enemy’s fake polls don’t factor in real turnout projections based on actually discovered enthusiasm levels

Consider these facts about Democrat enthusiasm:
A New Gallup survey has determined that enthusiasm among Democrats is at a 16 year low

In regard to Gallup’s findings, The Washington Examiner commented, “Just 65 percent of Democrats plan to vote in the election, and it’s just 47 percent among all voters aged 18-34, a trend that has the party worried about the lack of enthusiasm for Hillary Rodham Clinton. Republicans hold an 11-point advantage in those planning to vote, 76 percent to 65 percent, but the GOP vote is also at a 16-year low, but by three points compared to nine for the Democrats.”

A compilation of three recent polls that are generally unfriendly to Trump, shows the CNN/ORN poll had her down in enthusiasm among supporters 58/46, the Washington Post/ABC NEWS poll had Clinton down 46/33 and a New York Times/CBS survey showed Clinton behind 45/36 in supporter enthusiasm.

I would like to see him go back to a few ‘black’ churches, with his ‘what have you got to lose?’ line .. it applies across the board, but especially to blacks. Obama has done them no favors, unless they’re gay or transgender, or muslim. Then they are better off than they were 8 years ago.

I have to admit, in a way I don’t blame them. BLM, not Trump supporters, would certainly wreak havoc on their property. I guess none of the Revs in Harlem are willing or brave enough to host a visit.

“anti-Semitic rhetoric”

He’s showing signs of becoming the most philo-Semitic President in history.

But we don’t want to get in the way of a good narrative.
