Home building business.
Without all the illegal workers, how can they build all those McMansions for Chinese Communist millionaires?
92 million out of the workforce. What they mean is CHEAP labor.
My brother ran an honest construction contracting company which went under because he refused to hire illegals. Several good local boys, both black and white, lost their jobs when he was no longer able to compete with the crooks.
Screw them. Replace illegals with legit American workers who will do anything for a competitive wage.
They can hire legal residents or citizens. They can get quotas increased or work to get regulations reduced. But NO, they can $t break the law, bring in unvetted illegals, and expect the American citizen to pay for their medical benefits by comprom o sing ours and stretching our social support network to the point where it is breaking.
Eventually, the push in wired outlets are vulnerable to shorts or, even worse, a fire because someone thought saving the cost of that extra five minutes was so damned important.
The Chinese millionaires actually hired my brother's company for exactly that reason. There just weren't enough of them to keep him in business.
Maybe the ***** can get jobs and start acting like humans instead of animals and lunatics....

In 1994 I was hired on a crew for $10/hr during Denver's housing boom. I had never swung a hammer before. The guys who had made a lot more than that.
At the time it was the most money I had ever been paid and there was as much work as I wanted.
Fortunately for us they got bought up by a larger builder who had to pay to fix all the problems we had due to shoddy workmanship.
I saw my house being built. A lot of the workers were of questionable nationality. I don't question their ability to work hard, but I am certain they didn't know (or didn't dare question) when asked to make shortcuts or use inferior materials.
There was one white guy I met. He was a lazy bastard who complained about his job even though all he was being asked to do was sweep.
So you got hard workers who are too afraid to complain, and lazy Americans incapable of doing a days work.
We're screwed either way.
Doing the jobs Americans actually want to do.
We used to live in a sanctuary city (I don’t recommend it) in SoCal. If one needed cheap labor, just drive down to the Home Depot parking lot in the morning. Los illegales would be hanging out, en masse waiting to be picked up for a day labor gig. Tax free, under the table.
I empathize with anyone trying to run a legit construction business, paying taxes, workers comp, etc and all of the government regulation hassles.
Seems to me pretty clear there is no shortage when you can point out illegals are getting paid $3 an hour less than legals...
That’s not a labor shortage... a labor shortage would require all wages UP. This is just folks trying to cut their bottom line... Pay better and I bet you’ll find you can find the labor you seek without breaking the law.
All an illegal has to do is file exempt on withholding and FICA and they'll take home more per hour than a legal worker. If they remember to change their fake ID between Thanksgiving and New Years then there's hardly a chance of them getting caught.
Add in welfare scamming for icing on their cake.
These companies have to cut their bottom lines, because of non-enforcement of immigration law. As the FReeper posted above, it is very difficult to be competitive against companies who hire illegals. Quality of work performed is important, but that’s not generally apparent until after a job is done. Up front, it’s all about price, and the illegal alien companies will underbid you. It eventually reaches the point where everyone is breaking the law, because all the all-American contractors are driven out of business.
No FICA, no minimum wage, no overtime, no medicare, no unemployment insurance, no workmans comp, no employees whining to the EEOC/OSHA/etc, no tax penalties for not offering an employer health plan...
It’s all good, and as the govt regulation and tax burden grows it gets even better!
There are commercial grade outlets that take more connection make/breaks on the front side and have none of that straight wire insertion kr@p on the back. They do cost more.
Again, irrellevant.. you can’t argue you have a labor shortage when its clear you don’t.
There is no shortage of LABOR.. if there were, wages would not be two tiered... when you can’t find workers you pay more... the problem isn’t lack of workers, the problem is illegal behavior.
