Weve all had that co-worker at some point: superficially charming, supremely self-confident, but theyll walk over anyone to get ahead and not feel a seconds remorse.
Perhaps, after you were burned yet again, you half-joked that they must have a personality disorder.
Today, experts believe its very possible that your colleague is a psychopath.
Groundbreaking research presented at the Australian Psychology Society Congress in Melbourne this week reveals that one in five corporate workers may have the disorder as many as in the prison population.

Any connection to Trump being called a psychopath by the Dems?
“That’s my red stapler - I want it back.” “It’s mine.” “I’ll [mumble mumble] burn this b!tch down [mumble]”
If you read further into the story they claim Trump scored higher than Hitler on some kind of alleged “Psycopathic Scale”.
That sure sounds like a certain post-menopausal witch that just called 25% of the country DEPLORABLE.....can you imagine having to work around her? .....Have HER as a BOSS? .....Have her your PRESIDENT?......put a burka over it!
We have a well-oiled mean girls club and a lot of people who act like they’re still in junior high school.
I think there should be a distinction made between psychopaths, being without a moral compass or empathy and enjoying violence, and sociopaths, lacking morality and empathy but not given to violence for its own sake.

Describes a lot of the management of public television and academia.
My rule of thumb: If they charge at you with a deadly weapon while screaming, “KILL, KILL” they are are probably a psychopath.
I cannot imagine that Trump would ever take a test. So someone says that Trump is psychopath? Not reliable.
Trump is not psychopath. I have worked with psychopaths and he is not one. He connects with people. Hillary is a psychopath. She is cold and cannot connect. She does not like people. She is an elitist. Not likeable.
I’m not expert. But I have had experience with these personality disordered people.
Not to confuse psychopath with ordinary stupid.
I’ve worked with people who would do *whatever* if they thought it would please the boss.
I don’t know if that’s a psychopath or just a lickspittle.
You nailed it. Academia. There are times when I want to say, “Come on, people, we’re not in 7th grade any more.” Only reason it continues is because it is permitted to continue.
In every large corporate environment, there’s at least one person (often female) who “manages up” very well, earning the trust and protection of the C levels, but is an absolute terror with peers, direct reports and other staff. Interacting with this person is always a crapshoot, you don’t know what’s going to set them off, and woe unto you when you do. I think it’s always been thus, looking back through history. Monarchies certainly had them.
Let’s have both Trump and hilLIARy take the MMPI and publish the results.
It’s quite stunning in its accuracy.
