Too many of us have sat back for way too long and refused to become involved in anything that "smacks of politics
This is an article which was originally published in 2005 in, amongst others, the late great Mens News Daily. I felt it appropriate to republish it, today, as little seems to have changed with regards to the lunacy and growing dangers surrounding the continued application of political correctness.
I offer it, again, as a reminder of one of the areas where we began with this ideology andsadlyhow little progress we seem to have made in ending its false premise and overall message. With the upcoming November elections, I believe that the only way we can change this for the betterment of humans is to elect and place Donald J. Trump into the US presidency.
Yes
I think back over my near 7 decades of being an American born and bred and remember key points during that history that involve “political correctness.” It has mainly consisted of minorities - first blacks, then Asians and now Hispanics, and of course, Muslims now.
If you couple all these special victims’ rights groups with those emerging like ‘sexual preference/identification’ who seem to now have over 100 definitions of selected identifications distinctly apart from all others, what we are progressing towards some point in the future is where EVERYONE on the planet has some kind of special individuality, some ‘tick,’ or some preference. Damn! Imagine that! Individual rights.
If is a curious irony that I’m thinking - that long after I’m dead, that what madness befalls us today will one day likely return to one simple clear tenet so expertly expressed over 200 years ago during our country’s founding.
It is a damn pity that we’ll nearly destroy ourselves in the process. Remember the Lion movie? The “Circle of Life?”
Some will and some won’t. The ones that won’t PC themselves out of existence will use PC as a weapon to help them destroy the ones that will PC themselves out of existence.
It is as simple as that.
We’re all about non PC until it hits close to home. Then we want them to shut up.
I don’t remember Asians indulging in political correctness. What did I miss?
I guess you missed the whole Nisei internment apology and reparations then.
Go Trump/Pence.
The only thing I disagree with her is on the motivation for the left allying itself with the Muslims and vice versa.
I think it’s a case of the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Both the left and Muslims see the Western culture and Christianity as their number one enemy, their biggest obstacles to achieving supremacy.
In other words it’s a marriage of convenience like it was between the us and the Soviets during WWII against their common enemy Hitler.
Once Hitler was eliminated then we went after each other.
And so it would be with the left and the Islamists were they to defeat us.
It would be a battle for the ages waged by two ruthless foes with absolutely no qualms and no limits to their cruelty since their underpinning belief system poses no limit to their means for achieving their ends.
I would not sell the left short in this contest, remembering that some of the worst atrocities in recent memories have been committed by leftists like Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, Castro, etc.
I left my prior employer because they’d say don’t discuss politics, don’t be offensive, here’s mandatory diversity training saying all whites are racist, all men are sexists, all heterosexuals are other types of -ists. The obvious bias in these statements in an unconscious bias lecture not realized by the trainers shows an incredible lack of self awareness.
Contradict the narrative of a “victim” group member or the diversity training, demerits with financial repercussions.
What made it intolerable was the injection of it into everything. Every team meeting, every department meeting, every quarterly meeting, had a diversity minute (or more).
To fill time and socially engineer the workforce, and to supposedly make LBGTA feel more welcome, was the constant stream of paraded cases subject to discussion - but only the right kind of discussion. A woman is pushed up to talk about her husband leaving her after 30 years for a man. I said it was sorry he ended the marriage with such a choice, and I was reprimanded that he had no choice, I said he did and demonstrated it with 30 years of marriage.
One guy’s speech was how great it was that X supported him coming out, Y supported him coming out, it is so wonderful everyone supports him coming out.
A different woman publicly asked for advice on a husband of ten years wanting to cheat with men on the side but stay married and living together for their four children under 10. I said I’d understand not wanting to tolerate adultery, whether with a man or woman, does she want a referral to a good divorce attorney? I was reported for the “hate speech”, they decided it was gender neutral but “adultery” was a judgmental term. I said it was the legal term. I was told it was still inappropriate as was my advice. I challenged them - if my answer is inappropriate, so is the whole discussion, and piling on a woman with four young children asking advice on her husband wanting to cheat on her and saying only “so good for him to find himself” and “here’s a support group to make you comfortable with the cheating” is abuse of her. They asked how I could take this view, and that I had repeated bad marks for challenging these cases. I brought up my faith, and asked if this is such a common problem, can I get out of the constant meetings where this was all they brought up? Then I was challenged to prove that I wasn’t just saying this to get out of training. My manager, fortunately, knew that I was paying more in religious private school tuition for my children than my mortgage, but I told legal it shouldn’t have been necessary to have to prove my degree of faith.
The end result was being told months after a new company president came in that I wouldn’t be getting a raise, wouldn’t be getting my performance sharing bonus, oh, and we’re adding onboarding tasks to your technical support and you have to work more evening and weekend shifts to the ones I was already doing. I told my boss that was demanding more work for less pay, and I’d be job hunting.
When I told him I found another job, he said he wasn’t surprised, how much were they paying? What surprised him was that it was a lower paying position. Yes, working for less for a better work environment. The flexibility that lets me eliminate childcare and ability to shift work so I could take kids to Six Flags on a Wednesday morning or dentist was another draw.
I like working with people who don’t care about my politics or if I’m listening to Michael Savage on headphones. Never having to worry if a mentally ill man is in the bathroom is a plus.
We won’t go extinct. The liberals’ multiculturalism gives Muslims an open door to the West, welfare to facilitate their reproduction and cultural enclaves to avoid having to assimilate.
Whether they assimilate Westerners and boost numbers via a return to a true patriarchal rape culture or just replace is to be determined.
Understood, but if you read what I wrote, we won’t go ‘extinct.’
Thanks. I guess I never thought of that as PC. That darned Ronald Reagan.
Interesting insights. The problem I see is that if this “special individuality” morphs from an immanent criterion of man-made social constructs rather than from the rediscovery (or re-embracing) of transcendent God-given inalienable rights, we will probably just continue to devolve into a pseudo-individualistic Tower of Babel.
No. Only some humans will. The terminally PC will be eaten by the atavistic survivors.
Quite likely. The PC suicide train began slowly but is now starting to get up a head of steam, and will shortly be accelerating at such a pace that future generations won’t know how to think, speak or act, and that will pretty much be the turning point. It also won’t help that “multiculturalism” will make it impossible, even without PC, for one group to communicate with another; feelings of disrespect will abound and then “war thy name is PC.”
Nicely put.
You’re right. Liberal secular culture would, but not the human race. And Christians would face a very long fight for survival.
