It is time to recognize that devious bureaucrats and out of control federal agencies are the real enemies of economic mobility
(In a bold move, HUD partnered with the Departments of Transportation and Education to create a massive alteration in the way children experience school. The program is designed to help low-income families grow financially. Instead, it accomplishes something much different.)
HUD is the gold standard of dangerously unchecked bureaucracies. Dangerous because the agencys zealous moves already threaten property owners choices and undermine the authority of local public officials.
Kevin Williamsen(National Review) advocated getting rid of the whole department. Just keep Sec. 8 housing. Makes sense.
Our massive, intrusive, progressive/left nanny state is supported by two things - our fiat, unbacked currency, and the Federal Reserve
It means that unlimited money can be “printed,” unlimited debt can be monetized, and there are no hard or free-market constraints on government and politicians.
NOooooooo do not keep section 8 housing that gives the feds a right to come into your neighborhood and create a blight
If you want everyone to be controlled as easy as black democrats ,then you give all kids crappy schooling and lots of freebies. It`s always easier to control sheep..What democrats don’t want is tens of millions of people who think for themselves...That`s how democrats lose power.
Behind the façade that they are pushing “equality”, the real truth is that they have to disperse the black population because the urban reservations are bankrupt.
They want to make everything Detroit
We have Sec 8 housing out here on the coast!
You can be subsidized to live on the beach!
Still think it's a good idea?
Nothing has changed since then.
HUD isn’t about elevating anybody. They are all for bringing the rest of the people in to the ghetto category. Except, of course, the good liberal neighborhoods.
Leave public schooling. Just do it. They havent given a sh1t in decades about providing solid education. It is just another govt feasting on the public carcass program agency that involves local state and federal in, a truly awful trifecta, plus insane unions.
An astute point. Thank you.
I have to agree:
The federal government has no legal right to make any of these bureaucracies: They abrogate state’s rights.
When President Trump gives the gov’t an enema, one of the nozzles needs to be stuck in HUD.
It seems more like they want to spread Detroit’s costs across municipal, county, and state lines; they don’t want an economic basketcase, but just new revenue sources for the existing basketcases (by re-locating the residents so somebody else picks up the tab for their required “services”).
Within the past couple of years there was a news story in NYC where non-white parents were holding signs seeking white people to use their local playground; it had fallen into disrepair and they felt it wouldn’t be neglected by the city if whites were using it. The fact is they weren’t contributing anything to the upkeep, and they needed white tax dollars, not children...
