Start slowly, charcoal can bind you up like concrete. However it is a nice detox agent. Low dose it till you see how your body reacts.

My sister and her Chinese/Indonesian husband swear by charcoal tablets for an upset stomach.

They use a product (I won’t name it) and have given some to me when I had an uoset stomach.

It seemed to work as my stomach issue ended rapidly.

I’d prefer a couple shots of Jack to charcoal water.

I think when the grease flares up from landing on the bricquets is when its bad for you which is why my Weber in the indirect mode is super.

Also a few briquets in the fridge work as well if not beter than baking soda

I had to look that up and I see it was around in 1910, a “new” medical discovery.

Not sure if its relevant, but since belly bloat is mentioned....the latest fad in supplement ads I hear on the radio all day long are various concoctions to rid one of the dreaded belly bloat, the theory being “hey, your’re not fat, just bloated”. Yeah, right.

Remember watching a survival show years ago.

They made a drink out of some charcoal in the fire and water, to deal with someone with a bad belly.

Activated charcoal has been used for years in the ER to absorb toxins after inadvertent exposure to chemicals and to absorb medications after accidental overdoses.

I would imagine that activated charcoal is used when the substance ingested is known (and hence charcoal would be known as an effective treatment). When people do a "detox," do they know what "toxins" they are getting rid of? Science deals in specifics, not vagaries.

We wouldn’t be in the shape we are in (literally) if more people would have been vigilant about the antibiotics, gmo’s, high fructose sugar, etc. etc. Especially the antibiotic leviquin and its knock offs. . .30 in total. In May of this year the government posted a warning with a red box around it. I had a reaction to it. Hadn’t been to the doctors in over 20 years and had a splinter in a finger. . . even required surgery. Read up on the antibiotic and you will definitely look for alternatives. I only wish I knew a few years ago all that I have researched since my mother and dad passed away. . . I would have done things a lot differently for their health and care.

As with any post, if in doubt. . .do your homework.

I agree with you- I have been researching natural foods and medicines and have discovered that 2 spoonful’s of cold fresh sauerkraut mixed with 2 spoons of minced garlic (from a jar) are THE BEST antibiotic I have ever used.

I had one of those nagging coughs and sore throats for almost 4 months at the beginning of the year - you know, the kind where you know you have some sort of upper respiratory infection and you should see a doctor for anti-biotics, and I started reading up on natural antibiotics one night. And took the sauerkraut and garlic.

By the next day I was feeling better and by the day after that it was totally gone..

Since then I have used it when I got a nice scratch on my arm that got all red and infected- gone the next day.

now I take it once a week for purely preventative reasons.

Beets too- I love them now because they make me feel good.

Stop eating BREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
