What is the concern with Manafort? If he’s trying to get Trump elected, isn’t that de facto against Norquist et al? Is there some fear Manafort might try to sabotage the campaign?
Jeff Sessions credited the defeat of Cantor to stopping the Gang of 8 bill in the House after it passed in the Senate.

I think the fear of Manafort is that he’s such an entrenched insider. All lobbyist are suspect. Time will tell.

Plenty. Conda and Norquist have both been on the board of the Chamber of Commerce.
I get that...but Trump hired Manafort to help him win, not as a policy advisor. Right?
Does it make a difference what position Manafort is in if he’s not in line with Trump?
The common denominator is that all these people are initiated and belong openly or secretly to various exclusive/ secretive clubs sharing the same goals. CFR/ TC or half a dozen other represent the true uniparty.
If Manafort helps to get Trump elected and then leaves it won’t make a difference. If Manafort takes a position in the Trump administration—which seems unlikely—it would be a very bad thing.

I heard that. I wish he wouldn't. I understand the politics behind such a move, but I wish he wouldn't.
Agreed...I really hate it but I do think that he will need to play the political game to some degree.
