Earlier this week, Trump said something inappropriate about Gold Star mother Ghazala Khan. Her son, Army Captain Humayun Khan, was killed in Iraq back in 2004, but was silent when she and her husband, Khizr, briefly spoke at the Democratic National Convention. Khizr torched Trump in his address, which prompted the unseemly response from the Republican nominee. Khizr said that Trump knows nothing of sacrifice, lacks empathy, and is ignorant of the U.S. Constitution.
Okay—so Trump’s remarks, which arguably were touching upon the whole Islamic submission of women angle, was terrible. Yet, let’s not forget that Hillary Clinton also criticized a Gold Star mother. During the Democratic debate on March 9, Clinton pretty much called Patricia Smith, mother of slain U.S. Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith, a liar....

Exactly. It looks like there have been a total of 15 American Muslims KIA throughout the Forever War. That's out of almost 7,000 KIA. And this guy has some kind of moral authority b/c of his religion? We know it's not b/c of his son's sacrifice--Hillary could've picked any of the thousands of other family members. We also had two American Muslims slaughter their fellow Soldiers in Kuwait and Fort Hood.

What is a gold star?? really, I guess you weren’t around in the early 40’s? They hung little flags in the windows of homes where their sons were sent off to fight the war. The flags had one or more blue stars in the center which corresponded to how many in the family were in the service. If a service man was KIA, the star was changed to Gold, which meant the family lost a member in battle. We had 3 gold stars in our family, all within a week. Shot down over Germany in 44’.

Some of my customers on my paper route had gold star decals on their front door glass. I found out what they stood for from one of the WW2 books I read long ago. IIRC, there were also blue stars, which stood for a family member who was wounded in battle.

Trump’s remarks touched on the truth of where the real responsibility lies in the death of this man's son: his on cultist dogma called Islam. If the man and his wife are too blind or simply unwilling to accept that fact, then there is no need for further discussion on the matter.
