Some 7,000 armed police with heavy vehicles have surrounded and blocked the Incirlik air base in Adana used by NATO forces, already restricted in the aftermath of a failed coup. Unconfirmed reports say troops were sent to deal with a new coup attempt.

Hurriyet reported earlier that Adana police had been tipped off about a new coup attempt, and forces were immediately alerted. The entrance to the base was closed off.

Security forces armed with rifles and armored TOMA vehicles used by Turkish riot police could be seen at the site in photos taken by witnesses....

All Atlantic carriers are in port for “maintenance” as per order CIC. Convenient huh?

Under whose command? 0bama will not so anything except bomb empty tents in a desert. He will say this is being handled diplomatically.

Yes, 0bama is an islamist lover and so is hitlery. I am sure they love the islamist Erdogan. I know they hate all of the secular leaders of middle east countries and have taken them out except for Asaad in Syria and Sisi in Egypt who threw out the Mo Bro Morsi who 0bama gave Jets, Tanks and 2.5 billion in assistance immediately even though his supporters were murdering Chriatiaans ans burning churches. When the militaary under Sisi overthrew Morsi, 0bama withdrew the military assistance. 0bama always backs the bad guys and overthrows the good guys. That is why we are not involved in an Erdogen coup attempt. He is evil.

But the question still remains is “why do we need these nukes at such an insecure location when we can deliver other nukes anywhere in the world in a matter of a couple hours when I understand that these nukes would take maybe hours or days to make ready”? Why do we store them in Turkey?

US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Joseph Dunford is due to fly in for an inspection of the air base today. He is also expected to hold talks with the Turkish government in Ankara

Above quote from your link.

Holy cow, the chair of joint chiefs is going to Turkey tomorrow? I don’t know what to think of this...seems unusual? ?

Ya got me, but probably something to do with a NATO agreement. A better question remains is why as soon as the base power was cut and outside forces started to get aggressive were plans not made to evacuate the weapons? I think we know the reason we just haven’t admitted it yet. (well some of us have)

We still believe the situation at #Incirlik AFB is routine in nature due to a VIP arrival, we will keep monitoring the situation.

At this time, it looks like #Incirlik is readying for either a VIP or inspection. We are not finding any evidence of a coup or takeover

Crazy times. And nothing in the US media. Wow. The blue pill media. Find it odd that they are blockading the entrances and exits with dozens of commercial trucks. They did that in the past to keep armored vehicles in the base. Incirlik is an air base. Perhaps some right hand men of Erdogan will be meeting with the US and they need that security to keep out rebels and terrorist. But police alone can do that now. Nukes and chairman, oh my.

The situation at Incirlik is anything but normal. 6,000 police and dozens of blockading trucks for an inspection ? There are only 1,500 personal on the NATO Air Base.

I think it is unusual as well. It shows that we have little clue about what is really happening there that we are concerned about our relationship with Erdogan.

What has happened there is a disaster. Turkey, a NATO ally with a large army and Western technology, has become Egypt under the Muslim Brotherhood with a neutered military leadership (the traditional lid on Muslim extremism). It is unlikely that anyone will stand up to Erdogan now - he used this opportunity to make himself Sultan even though he does not yet voice it to the West.

This is also a disaster that may split NATO. Some NATO countries will not stomach an Islamist with a record of horrible human rights promoting radical Islam and buying ISIS oil while others will because of political correctness, buying the oil, or fear of their own Muslim immigrant citizens. An already complicated political picture in Brussels became much worse.

Let’s just say, for grins and giggles, that Obama and Turkey and Saudi Arabia wanted to get a small nuclear weapon to their buddies who are losing the fight in Syria against Assad.

How could they do that without destroying Obama and the Democrat Party?

Erdogan is a dictator. He can do whatever he wants.

Obama could just stand there with a concerned look on his face.

Obama and the Democrats are being blackmailed by our enemies.

Good Zero Hedge article. Now 7,000 Turkish police. Islamic radicals again heading toward base. Appears that airspace is closed. If one puts on the tinfoil, one can state the situation is identical to what would occur if Erdogan was told the US is evacuating the nukes.

I’ve been poking around Twitter, lots of confusion and worry. I’m beginning to think the president has asked the press for a blackout. I’m just speculating, but if something serious is happening he could ask for a temporary clamp.

Hard to believe no U.S. media on this..
