Chelsea Manning faces charges, solitary confinement after suicide attempt (PV1 Bradley Manning)
The Manchester Guardian ^ | July 28, 2016 | Nicky Woolf

Chelsea Manning may face charges relating to a suicide attempt this year, which could lead to indefinite solitary confinement or transferral to a maximum-security facility, according to a civil rights group.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) announced on Thursday that Manning, who is serving a 35-year sentence in military custody for leaking state secrets to the whistleblowing site WikiLeaks, was under investigation for three charges related to her 5 July suicide attempt: “resisting the force cell move team”, “prohibited property”, and “conduct which threatens”.

Manning confirmed through her lawyers in July that she was receiving medical care after having tried to take her own life.

If convicted of these new “administrative offenses”, she faces punishment that could include solitary confinement for the rest of her sentence, reclassification as a maximum-security prisoner, and an addition of nine years to her sentence. It might also negate her possibility of parole, according to the ACLU.

“It is deeply troubling that Chelsea is now being subjected to an investigation and possible punishment for her attempt to take her life,” ACLU staff attorney Chase Strangio said in a press release....

I had to translate it in order to make it intelligible:

Reading ‘her’ and ‘she’ instead of ‘his’ and ‘him’ is flatout disgusting! Gag!!! He’s a guy - can’t change that!!!! I don’t care what the PC crowd is trying to push on us!

He is a freak. But, even I have to say that solitary confinement seems like a weird reaction to a suicide attempt. It certainly won’t help his mental health.

If we wanted to execute him for treason, as we arguably should have, why not do it and get it over with?

Poor baby.

What is sad, is there doesn’t seem to be many happy endings for these gender confused people.

Solitary confinement seems logical to me. How would you like to be locked in a cell with a suicidal nutcase?

He’s caught in a satanic spiral of death. Praying that he may see the light and repent.

Manning's connection to WikiLeaks makes for a pretty interesting scenario.

Assange may want to use some leverage here to help the guy who really put WikiLeaks on the map. Even though he is a traitor.

If charges are dropped, it could be a sign of blackmail.

Then again, it could be that Obama is negotiating with Assange and using Manning as leverage.

Definitely some intrigue here.

If it was Chelsea, I'd be glad to help him with his project, /S.

Also, there's a difference between solitary as "a single occupancy room on the aisle with other inmates" and a solitary as a concrete block wall with a toilet and a food access tray. Don't know which he'd be getting.

Somehow I think of solitary as being in the hole.

Isn’t Bradley Manning still a boy??

Yes. Even if he gets his junk chopped off and a pseudovagina installed, Bradley Manning is not now, nor ever will be, a woman.

Intrinsically disordered people- people whose minds are at odds with physical reality- are going to be off in most other ways too. If the foundation is unstable how can ANYTHING about them be normal?

ACLU attorney Chase Strangio (the name was an immediate flag) is also a transgender. Woman posing as a man.
Whatever happened to legal issues being determined according to law?

Now it’s all identity and “feelings” politics, with trannies demanding new rules to custom-fit their individual demands, and demanding attorneys who are freaks, too, because nobody else could possibly understand their “feelings” and won’t give them what they demand.
