Can we ever escape the ass in human form?
I’ve seen this guy on TV. He’s pretty cool....and smart....and wise...
My thing is....why does a vet really need a license?
Frivolous law suit most likely from some busybody, jealous Veterinarian. Good it was thrown out. Meanwhile, this Dr. Pol got even more publicity for his good and charitable deed.
Perhaps it's to be able to write prescriptions.
First they came for the doctors, next they came for the vets...
True...Plenty of farmers treat their own...but antibiotics are certainly a necessity.
To verify that they understand basic medical care of an animal. That they know how to administer anesthesia to a dog or cat that is already taking medications or has it’s health compromised by age.
Pets can vary greatly in size and temperment, so it is essential that their doctor understands how to adjust his medical approach to suit each individual animal. Sometimes, a vet has to say no to elective surgery, if it’s not in the pet’s best interest, never mind what the owner is demanding.
And of course, if they like their veterinarian, they can keep their veterinarian.
The dog survived despite the lack of proper sanitary measures and post operative comfort. That's one vet my pets will never go to.
We need more vet’s like Dr. Pol
Where have I heard THAT before?
Oh, has anyone seen BO, that black and white fluffy dog who used to live in the White House?
Maybe we should check the official Menu history.
Oh, you meant the canine.
I had an uncle who was called a “country vet.” There’s no license.
They handle meds that are identical, or very similar, to the form given to humans.
Narcotics, antibiotics, pain meds... probably wise to license the dispensation of such.
If you had witnessed what this one Indian (hindi-type, not AmerInd) veterinarian did to a previous girlfriend's dog, you would be demanding not only stricter standards for the licence, but that all foreign-trained veterinarians be banned from any such work here in the U.S. -and of course that ban should extend to muzzie ones as well, considering their attitude towards certain animals.
**First they came for the doctors, next they came for the vets...**
Oh, I’ll take a vet over an M.D. any day. They gotta be able to cure a lizard, a chicken, a pig, a frog - all on the same day.
It must be very comfortable to be so fastidious and sanctimonious from 1000 miles away.
Ha!
