All of Utah #NeverTrump delegates go to Donald Trump after state misfile paperwork at RNC.
The Utah #NeverTrumpers were left speechless–
The last-minute rules changed from the Republican National Committee at Tuesday night’s roll call hearing in Cleveland turned a quiet Utah delegation into a confused crowd where pandemonium ensued. All 40 delegates, as counted by the national party, went to Donald Trump from a state where he didn’t win the popular vote after Utah pledged votes Tuesday to Ted Cruz.
Utah delegation party leader Phil Wright had the microphone on the floor of the convention “according to the votes of the great state of Utah, we passed all 40 of our delegates to the gentleman who won our state, Ted Cruz.”
After days of tumult and insider fights over voting your conscience, Utah delegates breathed a sigh of relief as a crush of national reporters pressed in for the final shot of Utah’s Never Trump stand.
“Utah 40 votes trump.”

Oh, poor babies. Lyn’ Ted was already DEFEATED and should have dropped out, releasing his delegates. Good these folks were shut up and shut down. Bye bye.
I was wondering about that, and the same for D.C. as well, I think it was D.C. at any rate.

DOH! Coulda sworn I heard them during the roll call send all their votes someplace else. Did they also NOT get the memo like Alaska?
Utah law states their delegates can not vote for a candidate not in the race. Cruz wasn’t in the race. Trump was the only candidate they could vote for.
I can understand their disappointment in wanting to vote for the candidate who won their state (and I can’t stand Cruz). Next time, they should familiarize themselves with the law or change it before the next election.
I love it and this smacks in the face of Team Romney and the GOPe gang.
