All of Utah #NeverTrump delegates go to Donald Trump after state misfile paperwork at RNC.
The Utah #NeverTrumpers were left speechless
The last-minute rules changed from the Republican National Committee at Tuesday nights roll call hearing in Cleveland turned a quiet Utah delegation into a confused crowd where pandemonium ensued. All 40 delegates, as counted by the national party, went to Donald Trump from a state where he didnt win the popular vote after Utah pledged votes Tuesday to Ted Cruz.
Utah delegation party leader Phil Wright had the microphone on the floor of the convention according to the votes of the great state of Utah, we passed all 40 of our delegates to the gentleman who won our state, Ted Cruz.
After days of tumult and insider fights over voting your conscience, Utah delegates breathed a sigh of relief as a crush of national reporters pressed in for the final shot of Utahs Never Trump stand.
Utah 40 votes trump.

Heh. All that pork and all those promises, and Cruz gets nothing in return. What a shame!
He’s a moron
If he’s eligible so is the son of any American woman raped by Osama Bin Laden born in Pakistan
This article is useless... its headline claims paperwork issue, but nowhere in the article does it talk about why all 40 went to Trump....
Facts and details would be nice.
The Utah GOP is almost gone.
Three turds in a pnhcbowl: Beck, Cruz and Barton
As near as I can tell, the RNC's only delegate apportionment rule is "The State delegations must follow the rules of their state GOP."
So, the Utah GOP rules say that if only one candidate survives, he gets all their delegates. Simple as that.
There was a minor bruhaha with Alaska and DC. Same state rule, so the same result.
Note that neither the Trump campaign nor the RNC wrote that rule. Those delegates must follow their state party rules for delegates.
It's why some states are "winner take all" some are proportional, and some are a modified proportional rule. The state party decides the rule.
I am fine with why it happened, but if you are going to publish an article about it, explain the WHY.. even in this article it didn’t spell out that the reason this happened was the state rules said they had to.
This must have really ticked off Cruz....because he mocked Trump with his 40 "supposed" delegates.
Guesst-a** Cruz didn't read the rules too carefully...
How can that be? He's so brilliant...
I think Cruz suspended vs. withdrawing in hopes of a coup to thwart the People. Must be rough being beat by a guy who "couldn't run a lemonade stand, much less a campaign.
Trump not only triumphed, he broke several vote records doing it...
I didn’t think it was a “last-minute rules change” — rather that Utah did not understand the rules and launched a hissy fit. Then they had to have the rules explained to them, after the committee up on stage again reviewed the rules.
Call it what you want...He had to be a candidate and he was no longer that.
LOL! Funny gif, thanks for posting it.
You should have seen the local news. They interviewed some precious snowflake millennial at her first convention. She kept saying, “I just felt like I wasn’t being heard, like my vote didn’t matter. I know it didn’t mean anything to the outcome, but I thought my vote would mean something. I was just devastated.” It was priceless.
Hubby was yelling, “Now you know how we felt at the caucuses!” at the TV.
He can hang out with his Beck/Levin/Rush worshipers and wonder why he is out of office.
Pray America wakes
Didn't stop them from trying to put him on the ballot for the convention - he's lost it and a lot of his original supporters.
A "paperwork snafu" wasn't the reason why Utah's delegates went to Trump, as the article suggests.
I have been repeatedly told ‘rules are rules’...
Great ground game.
The Donald Poo-Poo’ed their nonsense from the git-go.
Sometimes I think Trump could finagle Bin Laden into eating a Ham Sandwich.
And what did you reply?
“The rule that ended up giving Trump the state’s votes was actually passed by the Utah GOP to help the party’s 2012 nominee, Mitt Romney, one of the state’s most popular politicians. Many Utahns held out hope Romney would get in the 2016 race.”
