Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is 95 percent likely to pick Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate, according to the Washington Times. Sources close to Pence and to the Trump campaign tell Washington Times reporter Ralph Hallow that Pence is the probable vice presidential (VP) pick.
The Trump campaign announced Sunday it would hold a campaign rally near Indianapolis on Tuesday night, furthering the rumor that Pence will be announced as the VP choice.

Trust me. TRUMP likes to keep things in SUSPENSE and SURPRISE!
Trust me. TRUMP likes to keep things in SUSPENSE and SURPRISE!
And you know this how???? :-)
As they say at the Vatican, “Go in as a Pope, come out as a Cardinal.”
I sure hope so. That's my #1 choice. He needs a woman on the ticket and she's as conservative as the day is long.
There are several that would be excellent choices, including Gingrich and the general as well. Bear in mind, the VP choice has little or no effect on the outcome. This has come to be known for years. Regardless, I hope Trump stays the course.........it’s gonna be a long, hot summer.
Demographically, this would be the pick that the “advisories” to The Donald would suggest, in the hopes that it would assauge the doubts of the Republican Establishment.
But The Donald is still The Donald, and he will cut the cloth on the bias he knows best. The door is not completely closed on any of several others.
The Donald may confound the Establishment even yet. And make a choice that would resonate as solidly with his followers as just about everything else he has done so far.
We were told last week it was going to be three others. Newt Gingrich being one of them.
My guess is that it’s someone NOT being mentioned.
I still hope it’s Governor Greg Abbott of Texas.
My second choice is Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama.
It has to be someone the Globalist fear more than Trump.
For the record it can’t be a Globalist VP like Newt.
If he chooses a woman, it’s going to be seen as pandering. The female will be ‘Palinized’ by the press. It will turn into a negative.
In the end, the lure of multiple Governor terms may outweigh the chance of winning with Trump. I think he will turn down the offer. The Tuesday event could be just an endorsement, while Trump keeps looking for a running mate.
No way would I support Pence, he caved to easily over the gay agenda, no backbone, just another weak republican.
The press will Palinize and Quayle whomever Trump chooses. No matter the sex, no matter the qualifications, track record, or positions, the press's game plan will be the same.
If Trump selects him, he’s got to be good. I guess the question is was he being background checked as a diversion or was it serious? If serious, he must pass muster with Trump.
That’s kind of how I see it also.
“Pence will do no harm”. Compared to nearly every other person being vetted Pence is quite vanilla. He does have that one big black mark against him, but the others are all loaded down with multiple negatives.
Trump needs a somewhat vanilla person, a person that will take direction FROM HIM. He does not need someone who is so strong willed that they might undermine his efforts due to having their own agenda.
There is no perfect VP candidate. I just hope that people will not hold that against Trump personally.
Has it even been confirmed he is coming to Indiana ? There was nothing in the local press today except Pence saying that he would campaign for Trump “anywhere, anytime” and that a decision was expected by the end of the week.
Pence is a RINO in my opinion. He was a Senator or Congressman, can’t remember, that’s how memorable he was. I think he only served 1 term before running for Governor. Everyone here in the state is saying he’ll get beat by Greg (the mustache). Pence hacked off the teachers big time. Said he was against Common Core and then replaced it with the Indiana version of common core. It sucks too.
The harm comes later when Trump leaves office.Pence means Trump does not change the direction of the country.
No matter who Trump picks, don't overreact!
Pence is the vanilla choice to placate the GOPe.
