Gingrich: New York Times, Washington Post in 'all-out war' against Trump

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said in an interview broadcast Sunday that two of the country’s most prominent newspapers are in an “all-out war” against Donald Trump.

During a radio interview with John Catsimatidis, Gingrich blasted the news outlets, saying they are lying about the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. “Both The New York Times and The Washington Post have been in an all-out war to try to redefine Donald Trump,” he said.

Gingrich pointed to a Times article that portrayed Trump as often being inappropriate with women. The report relied on testimony from dozens of women who have interacted with the mogul over the years.

Gingrich said that “every single woman in the article [repudiated] the article, and say that The New York Times lied. They didn’t say those things.”

Rowanne Brewer Lane, who dated Trump, said the Times had taken a quote from her out of context.

Gingrich, who is reportedly one of Trump’s top choices for vice president, also argued that it’s clear Trump is a better choice than presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton

.

“If you think that it's OK to have a corrupt, dishonest government in Washington, Hillary Clinton is the perfect candidate, because she’s part of the establishment, she gets it, she understands how to lie about virtually everything,” Gingrich said.

“If you really believe we got to change America back to prosperity and jobs and creativity and dynamics, then Trump is the only candidate in this race that makes any sense at all,” he added later.

“...two of the country’s most prominent newspapers...”

How “prominent” they are depends all in how you view the worthiness of the papers....

IMO, they are BOTH birdcage floor material...Not very “prominent”...

I have considered Newt a superb speaker and politician since I first heard him in the early 80s. He can explain and put things in perspective probably better than any others of the political class. He is excellent on stage.

But Newt is a flat out bend with the wind politician. He does not seem to have any hard convictions, though he can talk as if he does.

Ideal chief of staff or pr guy. Could decimate the enemy camp as spokesman for the new admin. He can flat slice and dice to the core when he chooses to do so.

Yes he belongs in a senior position, but not VP.

“We should have a poll on the most dishonest print outlets, and the most dishonest televised media.”

How about PBS and NPR in all media categories?

___________

Hard to argue with that, though believe it or not, after Trump gave a speech ripping the Crooked One, NPR ran a story saying the speech was “the one republicans have been waiting 40 years to hear, and democrats never wanted to hear.”

At the moment, I’d still have to go with Washington Post as most awful.
TV is a toss up. NPR is owed a lifetime achievement award for 100% propaganda.
