Worse, a LOT of women LIVE by it and EXPECT everyone else to. This is problematic with kids' activities that are (e.g. Little League, scouting, home school co-ops) that are largely organized by moms.

Post #5 ~ Like it or not, a lot of folks go there. ~
I de-activated my FB account many years ago (no easy task) and I remain suspicious of folks who live for the FB...
Greatest waste of time ever concocted...

This experiment never happened. Although probably somewhat true in society regarding certain behaviors, THAT experiment is fiction. See here:
Click here.I do want to mention this: A man with whom I was doing a business deal told me he has told his son to be REAL careful about what he says outside of the house about conservative topics and my own wife is all over me about posting here on Free Republic for fear of reprisals. So, apparently we are all learning to be less and less outspoken about the evil that is going on in our society. Even God gives a warning:
Amos 5:13 Therefore, at such a time the prudent person keeps silent, for it is an evil time.

FRiend I don’t think you have the right context in mind for the verse you quoted from Amos.
It is wise to be measured in what you say at all times but don’t be silenced by the mere “possibility” of persecution.
1 Peter 3:13-17
13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness sake, you are blessed. And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.[c] 15 But sanctify the Lord God[d] in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
Take care and continue to trust in the Lord.

So beating the monkey who went after the banana became a sort of tradition.
I once read “tradition” described as: A solution to a problem that worked so well people forgot what the problem was.
Perhaps eliminating the tradition results in a return of the problem.
