Gun shop owner reported Omar Mateen BEFORE Orlando massacre....

A gun store owner reported Orlando shooter Omar Mateen to authorities weeks before he committed the worst mass shooting in US history.

Robbie Abell, co-owner of Lotus Gunworks, told the Wall Street Journal Mateen came into the store in South Florida in May and asked for heavy-duty body armor like the kind used by law enforcement.

Staff at the store, which does not sell body armor, felt it was a strange demand.

After his request was denied, Mateen asked to buy bulk ammunition.

Though Lotus does sell ammunition, staff shut down his request and refused to sell him anything else.

They subsequently reported the incident to the FBI, Abell said.

Mateen had already been investigated by the FBI years before.

But even after Abell's report, the 29-year-old self-radicalized gunman obtained an AR-15 and a semiautomatic pistol from another store in the area, bought stacks of ammunition, then opened fire on Pulse nightclub, where he killed 49 people and wounded 53.

It's almost like the call for more gun control laws is meant as a fig leaf to cover up the incompetence of authorities.

It’s not a gun problem, it’s a Fed problem. They aren’t doing their job to protect the US. They knew about this jerk before hand just like they knew about Farook, Hasan, the Boston Bombers, etc.

I am not sure it is incompetence so much as the FBI and the Obama Administration, in general, doing everything possible to cover for Muslims. This is at least the third significant report to the FBI and there were at least two prior investigations which were closed without action. All FBI training guidance has been expunged of Muslim references and everyone has been told that the real threat is White Militias and Christians. No wonder the FBI can’t connect the dots.

Nope. Not an AR-15 but facts don't really matter to the press anymore.

We’d be better off shutting down the FBI and revving up the CMP, not to include ‘rats and muzzies.

Obviously this gun shop owner is guilty of racial profiling and needs to be investigated.

As more info comes out it becomes more and more obvious that the DHS and FBI did everything to enable this attack but put the gun in the terrorist’s hands.

So this guy was a licensed professional weapons carrier, having filled out all of the information and gone through all the checks to be an armed guard, bought his weapons legally, had been previously reported to and investigated by the FBI as a potential terrorist and cleared, was then reported to the FBI again after being denied the purchase of body armor and bulk ammo, and yet even after all of that, we need more gun laws?

This guy was walking, talking PROOF that gun laws don’t work!

Government workers only care about their pensions.

I really cannot say whether the FBI & DHS individual employees are so intimidated by this admin’s consistent actions to punish them for their response to suspicious activity——or if there is “incompetence”.

I’d bet you can guess my suspicion.

“It’s not a gun problem, it’s a Fed problem. They aren’t doing their job to protect the US. They knew about this jerk before hand just like they knew about Farook, Hasan, the Boston Bombers, etc.”

Now, take that information and apply it to the investigation into Hilarity’s emails.
