There is no NeverTrump Republican with a higher profile than Mitt Romney. Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard seems to be leading the movement, such as it is, but Romney was the party's nominee for President just 4 years ago and has made clear that he is implacably opposed to this year's nominee, Donald Trump. Even his running mate, Paul Ryan, has made his peace with Trump and given him his endorsement if not his love. Now comes news that Hillary Clinton is seeking Romney's endorsement...

Like father, like son. George Romney pulled this same despicable act against Barry Goldwater, and now Milf is doing it against Donald Trump.

Though I was not a very enthusiastic supporter of Romney, I did indeed believe that he was unfairly criticized in 2012, and I did support him.
I can hardly believe how wrong I was.
He is an awful human being, beneath contempt.

If Romney does, it will absolutely prove everything I have suspected about the Republican party for the last 8 years.

This might be the best thing that could happen for our side. Many of the unwashed still think the GOPe is different from the dumbocraps. Mitt admitting he's a traitor might just open some eyes.

That will boost Trump with blue-collar democrats and not hurt much among republicans.

    You may be onto something.
McCain cuts a deal to appoint Cindy McCain as replacement.
Seat flips to RAT.
McCain stays in power over the Senate as VP (just like Biden)
Paul Ryan rolls over and follows his Master.

I can't think of a single one that isn't on the Bernie end of the party, Hillary and the bamster have been there before Bernie became a craze.
The big difference is that most of them know not to say out loud what Bernie does. They know they have to hide how radical they are. Bernie just never got the memo.

Lodge was Kennedy's Ambassador to South Vietnam from 1963 to 1964. He left office for a year. Then Johnson reappointed him in 1965.

So far as I've been able to find out, Lodge signed on with a group of Republicans that did not support Goldwater, but he did not explicitly endorse Johnson.

I remember being criticized here for refusing to vote for Romney. I voted for another Freeper who was running. I never regretted my decision for a minute.
