Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard seems to be leading the movement, such as it is, but Romney was the party's nominee for President just 4 years ago and has made clear that he is implacably opposed to this year's nominee, Donald Trump. Even his running mate, Paul Ryan, has made his peace with Trump and given him his endorsement if not his love. Now comes news that Hillary Clinton is seeking Romney's endorsement...

If Romney does, it will absolutely prove everything I have suspected about the Republican party for the last 8 years.

Lodge was Kennedy's Ambassador to South Vietnam from 1963 to 1964. He left office for a year. Then Johnson reappointed him in 1965.

So far as I've been able to find out, Lodge signed on with a group of Republicans that did not support Goldwater, but he did not explicitly endorse Johnson.
