I just heard of this at 1-AM on Coast-2-Coast. Well, there’s (just) dead and there’s “dead”.

How do you “recruit” people who are brain dead? That will take one hell of a salesman, er, person.

This is for brain injuries.
Doesn’t sound apllicable to old age.

No. Let the dead stay dead. It’s not just for physical reasons that we die. Some people are depleted spiritually or damaged emotionally, and have already experienced the deaths of their hope, faith or love of any kind. Let these people move on to the next plane of existence. Do not artificially tether them here, any longer than He commands.

A biotech company in the US has been granted ethical permission to recruit 20 patients who have been declared clinically dead from a traumatic brain injury, to test whether parts of their central nervous system can be brought back to life. How does one 'recruit' the 'clinically dead'?
After all, if their 'central nervous system' needs to be brought to back to life, how can it possibly comprehend the concept of consenting to an experimental procedure?
Not that this means the experiment shouldn't be done ... only that it shouldn't be framed in such unctuous ethical nonsense.
