Trump, of course, says they're desperate losers and should just get out of the way. But if that's the case, the strategy should be easy to defeat, right?
Strategically it makes perfect sense. Neither Cruz nor Kasich can get to 1,237 via the primaries and caucuses, but if they can make sure Trump falls short too, then anyone could conceivably become the nominee in a contested convention. Im a little surprised theyre actually announcing it, but here we are:
Within minutes of each other, the pair issued statements late Sunday saying they will divide their efforts in upcoming contests with Cruz focusing on Indiana and Kasich devoting his efforts to Oregon and New Mexico. The strategysomething the two campaigns have been working on for weeksis aimed at blocking Trump from gaining the 1,237 delegates necessary to claim to GOP nomination this summer.
I assume as always Ted was pro LGBT as Kasich was all along.
No Chance

It’s what pitiful losers do - go all spiteful and petty....and pitiful...and pathetic....
It is sad that two grown politicians have to collude against one person who has only been a politician for ten months in order to try and stop that person from getting the Republican nomination.
Senator Cruz has done very poorly and after his New York performance, which was a total disaster, he is in free fall and as everyone has seen, he does not react well under pressure. Also, approximately 80% of the Republican Party is against him. Governor Kasich, who has only won 1 state out of 41, in other words, he is 1 for 41 and he is not even doing as well as other candidates who could have stubbornly stayed in the race like him but chose not to do so. Marco Rubio, as an example, has more delegates than Kasich and yet suspended his campaign one month ago. Others, likewise, have done much better than Kasich, who would get slaughtered by Hillary Clinton once the negative ads against him begin. 85% of Republican voters are against Kasich.
Collusion is often illegal in many other industries and yet these two Washington insiders have had to revert to collusion in order to stay alive. They are mathematically dead and this act only shows, as puppets of donors and special interests, how truly weak they and their campaigns are. I have brought millions of voters into the Republican primary system and have received many millions of votes more than Cruz or Kasich. Additionally, I am far ahead of both candidates with delegates and would be receiving in excess of 60% of the vote except for the fact that there were so many candidates running against me.
Because of me, everyone now sees that the Republican primary system is totally rigged. When two candidates who have no path to victory get together to stop a candidate who is expanding the party by millions of voters, (all of whom will drop out if I am not in the race) it is yet another example of everything that is wrong in Washington and our political system. This horrible act of desperation, from two campaigns who have totally failed, makes me even more determined, for the good of the Republican Party and our country, to prevail!
Here is the thread posted about 11PM last night.
This is just sad and desperate
I merely hate Cruz the least; he's the least worst of them, IMO.

Cruz and Kasich have now announced to the country that they are losers, who cannot conceivably win on their own, even with the help of 90% of the media, and the entirety of the GOPe. They must now cling to one another in a desperate attempt not to win, but to avoid losing a bit longer.
Kasich, who up until now has been fairly truthful, has now adopted the “half truth” strategy that seems to be Cruz’s hallmark. Today, Kasich announced that “we’ve had 10 contested conventions, and only 3 times has the leader received the nomination.”
What he and Cruz don’t want you to know is this: NEVER since the party was formed in the 1850s has a candidate reached the convention with over 80% of the needed majority of delegates and been denied the nomination. Trump will meet that number shortly, and even in Trump’s worst-case-scenario, he will arrive at Cleveland with well over 90% of the required 1237 delegates.
I believe this latest desperate gambit will simply drive more people away from the two admitted losers, and that Trump will attain 1237 before the convention.
Didn’t Cruz try something like this in FL? I remember that this sort of thing was attempted early on - but I forget the states involved. Rubio told him to eff off. Off to go google.
” Rubio began making his closing pitch to voters this morning: Vote for me in Florida if you don’t want Donald Trump to become the GOP nominee
‘Ted Cruz is not going to win Florida. John Kasich is not going to win Florida,’ he said. A vote for them is in ‘essence’ a vote for Trump
In an unexpected twist, Rubio adopted Mitt Romney’s suggested strategy and encouraged Ohio voters to rally around their governor, Kasich, as well
Here’s why: Florida and Ohio reward the winner with all of their delegates - if Trump comes out on top in both, he’ll get another 165
Cruz and Kasich were content with their strategies today; both left Rubio out to dry

So, I had it backwards I think. :)
My thought is that Cruz has Kashish drop out in IN and then Cruz is supposed to return the “favor” and hand over his supporters in two states. What do ya bet that Cruz instead double crosses Kashishhh. I hope Kashsihs’ supporters love being played for fools. They went to Kashish because he seems so mild and reasonable, instead they get a guy who agrees to take a dive to help someone they DON’T support.
So Kashich pulls out. Some of his voters might pick Cruz, but others will pick Trump.
Cruz pulls out. Some of his voters might pick Cruz but others will pick Trump.
Where is the big win here for either?
Yes, this was and is the “Romney” strategy which they used in Florida/Ohio/Utah.
They both know they cannot win so why are they doing this?
Suggested answer: To put Hillary Clinton in office just as they were paid to do so.
