Cruz and Kasich have now announced to the country that they are losers, who cannot conceivably win on their own, even with the help of 90% of the media, and the entirety of the GOPe. They must now cling to one another in a desperate attempt not to win, but to avoid losing a bit longer.
Kasich, who up until now has been fairly truthful, has now adopted the “half truth” strategy that seems to be Cruz’s hallmark. Today, Kasich announced that “we’ve had 10 contested conventions, and only 3 times has the leader received the nomination.”
What he and Cruz don’t want you to know is this: NEVER since the party was formed in the 1850s has a candidate reached the convention with over 80% of the needed majority of delegates and been denied the nomination. Trump will meet that number shortly, and even in Trump’s worst-case-scenario, he will arrive at Cleveland with well over 90% of the required 1237 delegates.
I believe this latest desperate gambit will simply drive more people away from the two admitted losers, and that Trump will attain 1237 before the convention.
Didn’t Cruz try something like this in FL? I remember that this sort of thing was attempted early on - but I forget the states involved. Rubio told him to eff off. Off to go google.
