Many have thought of this, but the guys from FullMag actually went out grabbed a Craigslist limo and headed out to the range to shoot at a car window with a .500 Magnum. Just so you know, they're not shooting at a bullet proof window, just the standard. Have a look at the video here.
A small female can break a car window with a keychain tool
Why would a .500 would have any trouble?
Now fire it within the car. :)
Nonsense. Video can be faked. But I’ve seen lots of TV shows and movies, and one shot with a 38 snubbie will cause a car to explode in flame. Unless, of course, you shoot out the tire when the car is moving 80 mph and is 300 yards from you...so just aim for the tires. While shooting from the hip.
Seen it lots of times, so it must be true.
I've taken out a side window with a slingshot.
How is that ever a real question?
If by “break” you mean put a hole through it, sure it can “break” a car window. So long as you aim the barrel of the gun perpendicular to the surface of the glass, it can be done with a BB gun (no rhyme intended).
Side windows are made to be broken out. The windshield is made to be resistant to breaking and shattering.
“It shoots through schools.”
How bout those “Cop-Killer” bullets passing through the blade of a bulldozer and killing the driver in the cab!
There’s no reason to shoot at the bad guy inside when, with a little practice, a woman can flip a dagger through the window and hit him between the eyes.
I should know - I’ve seen it on TV several times.
Lol...the day “24” jumped the shark for me was this scene:
Jack was running toward a warehouse door with a padlock...
He is at least 20 yards away and cleanly shoots the lock off...!!!
Impossible shot, but only Jack could do it...!!!
That also happens when one car sideswipes another, parked car on TV or in a movie. It will leap into the air, flip over, and explode in flames as it falls to the ground. It's amazing! I never knew sideswiping parked cars was so dangerous. At least it was for guys fighting the A-Team.
idiot way to stretch 15 seconds into a 3 minute video
Jack could just give the lock a withering look and it would fall off! ;-)
A childhood friend threw a chicken bone at me and missed, and broke a window on the neighbor’s Cadillac.
40 years ago, I owned a bar and was concerned about carrying large amounts of cash {we did a tremendous cash business in the 70s} and I had a carry permit.
I wanted to find out how my 357 Magnum would perform inside of a vehicle. I went to a friend that owned a junk yard and sat inside of several vehicles and fired out at different targets {I did have ear plugs, ear mufflers and eye protection along with a leather jacket and gloves}.
I hit center mass through the windshield and both front side windows but missed shooting through the rear side windows.
I had ear ringing for over a week, but I knew that if I had to, I could shoot through the car windows and mostly hit my target.
Sooo...the thing here is not “make a hole” but “blow out completely”?
How is this kind of stuff helpful to gun owners?
Ahhh. The A-Team. Millions of rounds down range, and nothing hit but buildings, cars, the ground, and other assorted inanimate objects.
