Geraldo Rivera declared that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump could win 25 percent of the African American vote, adding that the GOP front-runner is not a racist.
"I predict that Trump may get as much as 25 percent of the African American vote," Rivera said on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" on Thursday.
"Why? Because he's anti-free trade or unfair trade. He's anti-immigration, the immigrants perceived by black Americans to being in direct competition to them."
Rivera added that Trump is not responsible for bringing race into the political atmosphere, as the issue has been used by Democrats and Republicans alike in the past.
"The base of the Democratic Party is encouraging the urban, African American and Latino voter to flock to them as part of their own resentment," Rivera said.
"Race is at the foundation of American politics," he said. "To pretend that Trump brought this into the fray is absolutely wrong. Trump is not a racist."

Trump could get a higher percent of Black and Hispanic votes than Romney. I talk with many Blacks and Hispanics.
The image of Republicans is that Republicans are spineless wimps. Many of all demographics admire Trump for having a spine, courage, cajones that Republicans lack.
If they lean Democrat, they rationalize that Trump is not a real Republican and therefore it is OK to vote for him.
Another possibility is that a lot of black people that normally vote democrat will just stay home and not vote at all. That would also help Trump and other republicans.

Another classic case of the broken clock(Geraldo) being right twice a day. This time he is right.

Perceived? Just couldn’t quite go all the way and say it’s a fact they’re in direct competition with blacks. Or he could have made a racist comment and said “Blacks don’t want jobs.”

The only Trump supporters I’ve run into aka cab drivers, have been black, or originally from Africa...but I live in a blue state.
