Tensions ran high at a Donald Trump rally here the day after the Republican front-runner canceled a Chicago appearance amid violent protests, but Trump and his supporters werent discouraged, blaming his detractors for disturbances at his events.
In Chicago Friday night, Trump cancelled a rally that had hundreds of protesters clashing with supporters, leading to several violent skirmishes. In Ohio the next day, thousands turned out to see Trump at two events, and mostly they blamed the protesters, saying the candidate was not at fault.

I’ll remind you that without Trump there would have been NO movement. Give credit where credit is due instead of reminding us Trump loyalists who has stood up for America in the recent past. NOBODY!
Go Trump!
There was a movement before Trump. It was called the tea party. Trump is seizing an opportunity to lead a movement that was already started and has fairly recently become rudderless and listing ... I will withhold judgment on his sincerity to its goals. He may be entirely sincere for all I know. I hope so.
The Teaparty has abandoned its goals. I am an original member but with the leaders hornswagling their members to support Cruz, I have left both clubs I belonged to. The Teaparty also made a lot of poor choices like Cruz and Rubio and I gave them my support. No longer. The minute they hit Washington they become just like all the rest.....dreaming of lifetime government positions and the great big gravy train.
Well what do you have to say about Cruz touting a 500% INCREASE in H1B Visas ??????????????????
Kasich doesn’t have the guts to try to quell a riot. He’s mister nice guy, remember?
The Tea Party was more a concoction of the media than a real movement.
The tea party is not its leaders
The ideals and goals are still there, they didn’t to away, and there were never going to be accomplished in one or two election cycles. Overall it has bee extraordinarily successful, although I agree it has been co-opted somewhat (but not permanently).
We had to elect different people and try them out, which was done. There was never any reasonable expectation that every single person voted into office was going to keep true to those who elected them, they are after all still politicians.
Now they need sorting and re-sorting out.
My point is that Trump can be useful towards tea party ends .. or not. His choice. If he chooses correctly it could be a good thing for the entire country. If not, he can be summarily dismissed as we have already done to many who were in office.
It’s a constant vigilance thing.
I don’t do messiah politics.
