Rubio Sacrificed His Campaign to Save America
Redstate ^ | March 6th, 2016 | Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 03/06/2016 8:07:51 PM PST by ObamahatesPACoal

Marco Rubio’s campaign ended yesterday. He won’t acknowledge it and neither will his hardcore supporters for some days, but he is done. It was one thing when he was running more or less even with Cruz across the South, like he did on Super Tuesday, but Rubio has clearly lost his mojo, finishing behind Kasich in Maine and well behind Cruz in Kentucky and Louisiana. Rubio is running out of gas both metaphorically and physically. This is now a race between Cruz and Trump.

I say this as a guy who a couple weeks ago endorse Rubio as the best chance to beat Trump.

Interesting article, but I have a problem with the headline. The article says:

“Granted, I don’t think that Rubio had any sort of altruistic motive in doing what he did; I am quite sure he did it with the intent to win.”

From the article:
“I have often said that Rubio is the most gifted politician I have seen since Reagan.”

Rubio was very good at CPAC. If it wasn’t for his gang of eight role, I could support him. For Floridians, he is so much better than Charlie Crist.

Rubio was the least-qualified, least-vetted, unprepared and unlikely candidate to ever run a serious national campaign. He has no wealth, no elite connections, a very modest resume, and no track record (well, not a good one at least). So how did he even get this far?

Answer (stealing this from Paul Begala of all people) “He looks like the perfect candidate, straight from Central Casting. Hispanic, attractive, young, conservative talker but knows how the game is played, etc.” He’s got Rubio nailed.

Begala went on to say that Rubio is like this really great dog food that the dog won’t eat. He looks like the ideal candidate to everyone except the voters. Also dead-on.

Rubio was put in the race to split the “Not-Trump” vote that otherwise Cruz would get, so that Jeb! could win his home state of Florida with 15-20% of the vote, which is all the polling showed he’d get. The fact that Jeb! was unpopular in his own state didn’t stop the GOPe from supporting him, they just had to pull Little Marco in as well, knowing that he was just playing a bit part.

Well, Trump blew the Jeb! strategy out of the water and they were stuck with Rubio as the star quarterback instead of the waterboy. Sucks to be the GOPe doesn’t it?

I have no doubt ROMNEY thinks he has a shot. I am telling you there no way in hell the rank and file who run the GOP are going to allow this to happen.

You would have whole state delegations walk out of the Convention. Georgia for one is not going to put up with any of this clown crap. We going to make dam sure our delegate know full well that doing anything like that is a career ending move back home.

This is the thing the political pundits and the Dc Media consultants always forget. They continually forget it goes beyond just winning a transit political advantage. You got to live with us afterwards. They can be hard headed some time, they are not politically suicidal. Beyond their own careers, these people really do not have any principals. They may kick up their heels but in the end they will do as they are told by the Party.

There is a lot of anger in the party machine at the local, county and state level at DC. It not just the voters who are angry.

I have to credit Leon Wolf for an honest article, admitting defeat and willing to do so and move on. I hope we all will do that regardless the outcome. The enemy is the left.

Most gifted politician talker.

He really a rather poor politician, but rather good at giving a sales pitch. Most people who think Rubio is a "good politician" thought the same thing about Bill Clinton. Not actually all that good at it actually just does a heck of a good job selling snake oil to gullible.

So if no candidate gets that magic number it goes to a brokered convention. After the first vote delegates can vote anyway they want. I hope it doesn’t happen but I certainly don’t trust Reince Preibus or Paul Ryan.

The GOPe’s remaining chances: a brokered convention, or convincing voters this election is not about immigration. Since this election is ALL about immigration their only chance is a brokered convention and the resulting nominee will lose big time. Watch the media hype the brokered convention since that is the only way they can get their losing nominee nominated.

You are not trusting them.

You are trusting the delegates who have to come home and explain why they did what they did. Unlike the Democrats, the people going to be our delegation have to come home and look people like you and me in the eye and explain what they did.

This brokered convention garbage is the fantasy of the DC Media punditry like Karl Rove. It is not going to happen.

What all the Punditry forget is the delegates are local or state party activists. They are every bit as pissed off as the voters at DC. This is not just a rebellion by the voters. For almost 2 decades now DC has sent out marching orders to the locals. They never been happy about it and this year, finally, they get to do something about it. There is a mssive accumulation of anger in the local and state GOP party machine this is waiting to be unleashed on DC.

The idea that the delegates are simply going to go to Cleveland and do as they are told is a Karl Rove pundit/Consultant Media class fantasy.

These delegates have to come home and explain why they did what they did. Unlike the Democrats, the people going to be our delegation have to come home and look people like you and me in the eye and explain what they did.

This brokered convention garbage is the fantasy of the DC Media punditry like Karl Rove. It is not going to happen.

It sounded like he wasn’t well liked in Florida. That this is the end of his political career.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I can't remember his exact words but he basically said he was bored with being a senator not too long ago.

Rubio Sacrificed His Campaign to Save America

That sounds a bit harsh. It may be just his youth and enthusiasm just not matching his experience.

He may simply not be ready for prime time...

Of course, not being able to dissimulate convincingly, just reinforces that feeling. He needs to mature to reach the level of easy lies required of competent current elected criminals.

Just my take on it.

From the outset of his campaign, I’ve believed that Marco Rubio’s goal for 2016 has been to introduce himself to all 50 states (57 for Democrats). He’s accomplished that goal. I think he has succeeded.>>>> except he has no career now. no job. what’s he going to do. become a lobbyist. pump gas. he didn’t go to work in the senate and i think he said he didn’t like the job. he’s a lawyer so like the other failed lawyers will work as a news commentor.(sp on purpose)

"For Floridians, he is so much better than Charlie Crist."

For Floridians, he was so much better than Charlie Crist. Then instead of amnesty with Crist, no amnesty with Marco; we got amnesty on steroids all the time with Chuck Schumer and Mark Zuckerberg owned, Marco Amnestio.

Now with Floridians, Marco and Crist are about the same. Crist left the GOP, but Marco is still hanging around for some reason. I fully expect he and Romney (again) will jump ship a some point.

Good riddance to both of the lying socialist traitors.

If a brokered convention picks Romney, the GOPe’s win.

That would be a pyrrhic victory at best, inasmuch as it would guarantee a Hillary Clinton Presidency.

The voting public would utterly reject such shenanigans under such circumstances as the GOPe has tried to engineer, and rightly so.

It's hard to imagine the GOPe could be so suicidal, but God knows they're capable of it...
