If Trump gets less than 50% of the delegates it will be too risky to vote in someone else. Everything is negotiable, right? Here's my plan: Trump AGREES to serve only 4 years if nominated and elected. Cruz as VP. Cruz picks Supreme Court nominees. Trump has 4 years to make America great again. In 2020 the delegates(or the RNC) can vote to give him another 4 years. If he is not what he says he is America will survive. Trump will not have the upper hand under this plan. If he doesn't like it he can pound sand. Thoughts? (ain't I smart?)
Here goes my thinking: if the nomination is stolen from Trump the elitist royalty will be even more arrogant and disdainful than they were after the nomination was stolen for Cochran. Their attitude will be "We stopped the rebellion. We don't even need voters. Let's do even more to increase our wealth and power at the expense of the middle class. If they don't like it, let them eat cake"
Since that is their mindset, we'd probably be better off with the dems who at least pretend to answer to the voters.
You sound desperate...clutching at straws to me
Give credit to Ted Cruz for warning against a brokered convention it would cause a Voter Revolt which is would.Since he would be the man a brokered convention would aim to help, Cruz is putting country over party and personal ambitions. Nixon did the same when presented with proof that Kennedy cheated in Chicago to win in 1960. Well said Senator Cruz!
DUMP the GOPe.
Why just four years?
Bad plan.
Establishment Wants no part of Trump. They might get Cruz to play ball.
Brokered convention. Trump will NOT win the nomination.
Rupublican party erupts in civil war. Say hello to 8 years of hillary as POTUS
WOW!! Can you also tell me who’s going to be in this years final four? And who will win the NCAA Championship? Please. Pretty please!
I want 8 years of Trump, I don’t agree with this plan.
Fail
Cruz is a good man and would make an excellent President, but he might not be the best VP choice; on the other hand he might be.
I think Trump already holds the trump cards. The best thing the GOPe could do would be to follow Christie's example and jump on the Trump bandwagon, try to persuade Trump to choose an establishment candidate for VP and to tone down his rhetoric, and fight like hell to defeat Hillary.
Trump makes deals. He might be willing to let the GOPe keep some of their power in return for their support.
Gope hates cruz. Trump says he can work with them.
Tell me again why the gope would want cruz?
You don’t dictate policy to the rest of the voters.
If the Republicans throw out the ENTIRE PRIMARIES, then there will be a revolt.
Let’s just hope it’s not physical.
The GOPe best move is to Yield to Trump instead of trying to throw out what the voters want.
I have met many people that are FURIOUS with the way GOP Establishment has been treating Trump.
The Trump and Cruz delegates combined will be far more than the 50% needed to control the convention. Rule changes have to be approved by a majority of convention delegates.
All delegates are elected by the folks back home and owe nothing to ‘party bosses’.
The GOP-E fantasy about a ‘brokered’ convention can only happen if primaries are really inconclusive. That would mean that anti-establishment delegates could not have a majority. That is almost impossible at this point.
Trump support while higher than the rest is not “the will of all the republican voters” its the will of about 35% of them
Wait until the Cabana Boy and the Canexican drop out.
Wait until the Cabana Boy and the Canexican drop out.
Which is higher than any other candidate.
So giving it to Cruz would be like giving it to 18% of them or Rubio would like giving it to 15% of them.
That kind of deal gave us George Bush the First and all that followed.
Never again.
The GOP-e must be crushed across the board. We have a rare moment where that is possible. It's all or nothing fight now.
GOP/DEM delenda est...or the Republic is lost.
Cruz and Rubio have a better chance of beating Hillary. Trump is our weakest candidate across all the polls.
always thought the guy who gets the most votes would have the best chance.
silly me
