I just received an ad for a knife that reminded me of the political dangers of expressing yourself with weapons, even when the weapon is only to be used in self defense. I would rather not use a knife against a BLM thug and have the Confederate Battle flag in front of a (potentially liberal) grand jury. Personally (design, construction, and materials being equal) I prefer Barbie or Hello Kitty, since the goal is to survive the entire encounter with a minimum of damage. A jury would be predisposed to assume that Hello Kitty was not carried with aggressive intent.

The same is true for self-defense firearms. All other things being equal, I'd rather shoot an intruder with my daughter's pink firearm than with a scary black rifle.
