Until we can prevent them from re-entering, deportation is a moot point. Build the damned wall.
As Trump has opined, and correctly IMHO, many will self deport when the free lunch evaporates.
Enforce e-verify and cut off all taxpayer funded benefits to illegals and most of them will leave. More importantly, other illegals stop coming. It is not that difficult.
watching one america news yesterday, they were commenting how some new migrants to european countries are going back/leaving due to not liking conditions/handouts etc of countries they entered.
Thats a huge part of answer for USA illegal alien issue right there. we don’t need to round up all as so many even on FR keep whining saying it can’t be done.
Take away the free stuff and most of them will leave tomorrow.
Deny parasitic illegal aliens welfare, and enforce existing laws against employing them? The far left freaks out.
If we stop giving them state and federal assistance, snap, housing, disability for not speaking English, free medical care, free education, etc, there won’t be many left till we’re ready to deport.
When Trump starts actually building the wall, there could be legislation passed making e-Verify mandatory for every employer, and saying that anyone here illegally has until the wall is completed to leave the country. If they are caught here after the wall is finished, they will be deported, maybe a provision that if they are apprehended, and deported, they will NEVER be allowed back in for any reason. I’m betting that about half the illegals would leave on their own.
Well 40% are visa overstays so they need to be contacted and given 48 hours to depart our shores.
There is no need to go to all of that....
Make being in the US illegally an “A” felony with 20 years prison, and deportation with them never, ever allowed to re-enter. A second offense is a capital crime, and execution is certain.
If you are apprehended in connection to another felony, it goes immediately to a capital offense.
They will leave on their own.
But if we start deporting people who are here illegally, they might start getting the idea that we are mean people and are tired of supporting them and don’t want them here! /hand wringing
I tend to believe there would be a lot less traipsing around the country playing “Find The Illegal” if we enacted a few federal laws that would incentivize the illegals to make their own hasty exit. Something along the lines of:
1. An online employment verification system that gives the employer a court defensible receipt the worker was verified.
2. Without the verification receipt above, imprisonment and fine for any site manager and Company owner/CEO caught employing illegal labor.
3. A federal ban on any public benefit, welfare or subsidy funded by taxpayers that goes to illegals.
4. Any illegal that seeks medical attention will only receive treatment for life threatening conditions and as soon as stabilized, they will be deported (our nickle, unfortunately) to their country of origin, or of their choosing.
I think if we could do something like that, they will self-deport when they realize groceries are hard to come by when you can’t make a living or get govt handouts.
To solve the immigration problem you have to solve the welfare problem.
If there is no huge welfare package for illegals there is no reason to even build the wall.
Do those things and illegal aliens will deport themselves and pay for the trip. Motivation is a powerful force.
