Grew up in Mittengan, moved to Texas for the money.
Another “north woods story”.
My brother and I were “slow-rolling” the Manistee Forest just before sunset, looking for bucks when a redneck-pickup came from behind “shining” deer along the edge. (An act that is not illegal provided you aren’t shooting at what you shine.)
He passed us and, in the on-coming lane was a car. The on-coming headlamps looked somewhat bright and the redneck-pickup flashed is brights to get the oncoming vehicle to turn down their brights.
The oncoming sedan didn’t change so the pickup lit up his over-cab KC light bar and literally turned night into day.
The oncoming car did likewise, except...his overhead light bar was red and blue.
My brother and I slow-rolled the stop while laughing as loud as we could. The sheriff gave us a sly smile....
I hate people like these. Confiscate their truck, guns, driver’s licenses, fine them thousands, and throw them in jail for a year. And yeah, I know it’s probably not their truck. Imagine what their boss will do when his truck gets confiscated.
Never heard of that town, where is it located?
Funny.
See, the state is shaped like a mitten so I call it “Mitten”-gan.
Actually it is during the month of November. The other 11 months of the year you may shine but can't do so if you have a firearm in your vehicle.
Regarding your statement, I'm sure you referring to a time of the year that did not involve November........
Yep. mid-October. Had spent the day steelheading in the Betsie.
Ah, I get it...HaHaHa.........
So where were you living when you got your buck?
Farmlands, Calhoun county.
At the time Ted Nugent still lived in Jackson county and I got to meet him not long after I got that buck. That man is intense!
