Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse Responded To Donald Trump and It Was PERFECT
Redstate ^ | January 29, ,2016 | Dan McLaughlin

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse is one of the best new Senators elected in 2014, and we at RedState were proud to support him in the primaries. After keeping a low profile his first few months in the Senate, the 43 year old freshman has gradually been building a higher profile as a conservative reformer, and has recently started grilling Donald Trump on Twitter. Today, Trump fired back - and Sasse responded in kind, giving The Donald a taste of his own medicine.

Sasse started bearing down on Trump on Sunday, beginning by noting - as many elected Republicans have - that Trump has indeed raised some important issues and questions in this campaign. But Sasse has far more serious questions on his mind about Trump as a potential Leader of the Free World.

As you can see, some of these questions were serious policy issues, some were questions of personal character, but all were serious matters a presidential candidate should be ready to address. Getting no response, Sasse upped the ante two days later after Trump bailed on the debate in Iowa, which neighbors Sasse's state

That all you got? What about Sasse? What about the tweets?

Good questions. Trump needs to address them.

Did Trump address the questions? Why, no, I believe he said Sasse was a lousy senator and looked like a gym rat.

Well, one thing about Trump.

He DOES NOT look like a gym rat.

Much more clever tweets from Sasse. The line about Russia and Megyn was classic.

I don’t believe Sasse said anything about short fingers.

I’ll have to go back and look. But you can bet I’ll be saying stuff about it.

I did go back and re-read. Still fun.

I was wrong. After Trump has answered Sasse’s tweets with typical trump insults, Sasse tweeted something like, “gee, he got so mad you’d think i’d asked about the length of his fingers.”

Great subtle insult. I did not know about the finger sensitivity. Bet Ivanka never does finger criticism. Trump’s women behave.

Well, Trump certainly zinged him. Why bother explaining radically different positions than now held when you can reply with a personal assault? It seems to be how Trump reveals his deep thoughts.

The guy asks legitimate questions and the response is that Trump should find some way to attack the questioner personally? No questions allowed? Not willing to discuss issues but willing to engage in personal destruction?

Oh bull. He is being a brat and immature.

Sasse posed a series of legitimate, substantive questions. Trump responded by saying that Sasse looks like a gym rat. And it was Sasse who was a "brat" and "immature"?

You Trumpkins really have a warped view of things.

Trump should find some really embarrassing detail about him, something that wouldn't go over well in Nebraska, and tweet about it for a week

Just as a warning shot for those pissants in Congress.

Yeah, that's a great idea. Trump should send a message to Congress that if you stand in his way, or even if you question him, he will personally attack you and embarrass you relentlessly.

Wow, I didn’t know that TRUMP (PEACE BE UPON HIM) has “ABNORMALLY STUBBY FINGERS” -— and that he is sensitive about his STUBBY FINGERS.

This guy had better get used to saying “Yes Sir Mister President” when he actually speaks with Trump.

Damn straight. How dare this guy ask Trump substantive questions about his record and positions? He’d better fall in line behind Dear Leader. “Yes sir!”

Cruz’s actual legislation (and Obama’s agenda) is TPA and the Corker bill.

Crow about that.

“AND I did not know about the sensitivity to the short fingers.”

That one is unbelievable. Does anyone think that Trump would loudly announce a sensitivity to something that is visible every time he appears in public?
