Rick Perry just endorsed Ted Cruz and I posted that news in a thread this morning. It's gotten over 100 comments.
On it I posted Rick Perry's comment in defense of Ted Cruz about the "New York Values" dust-up [Comment #84 at the link above].
[Rick Perry: "...."Mr. Trump took umbrage by Ted Cruz talking about New York values, and, you know, became very serious about - as we all were - what happened on September the 11th of 2001," he said. "We were all New Yorkers that day - don't get confused with that, but you know, I would hope there's enough humor in that person to understand that, hey listen, we all make fun of New York," he said. "I mean, come on, 'New York City? Get a rope.' Remember that ad, for the picante sauce?"]
I also posted a picture [Comment #52] of Rick Perry and Ted Cruz together at Fort Hood [Texas] in 2009 after Major Nidal Hasan in a terrorist attack left 13 Americans dead and 30 Americans seriously injured - the attack that Obama and his supporters called "workplace violence."
That Fort Hood picture, and Perry's comment defending Cruz on the "NYC Values" thing and the way it was reframed by Donald Trump and his campaign around the 9-11 attack on the Twin Towers - those 2 events - got me to wondering, did Donald Trump ever come out in support of Texas, the soldiers and/or denounce that terrorist act and the actions taken by the administration?
And is that a fair question to ask?
Ft Hood did happen in Texas, so this is no surprise that Texas politicos would be on hand.
I doubt they all went to New Jersey to stand around after Hurricane Sandy.
Here is the story and why they were together at Fort Hood.

2009 by Hassan, 2014 by Ivan Lopez. That creates plenty of opportunity for ambiguity and confusion!

I think the photo is from 2014, not 2009.
The 2009 attack is the one that most people assumed you were talking about, but now the 2014 shooting comes in. Confusing. Your fault it is confusing. You clarify. Not my job.
You are correct. I had the date wrong, and thus the incident. Have I challenged you on that?
It doesn’t change the focus or my question about Trump.
The answer: Trump decided to comment in 2012 on the Fort Hood shootings of 2009 because he was gearing up for his political run.
At the time the attach occurred - No, it is not a fair question. He was not in politics at that time, and there are many here who remind celebrities to “shut up and sing”.
Has he been asked about this in conjunction with other such attacks since becoming a candidate? Well, provided the question wasn’t a “gotcha”, that may be useful.
I know you have animus toward him as a candidate. But we need to be mindful that politicians - most often ONLY politicians - frame their every day existence around the imaging that will serve them best in their next pursuit of office. The rest of us, including billionaire businessmen, do not try to personify a political movement or standpoint consciously and deliberately.
Thank you (several people have posted that link now); it was a tweet in 2012 about an incident that took place 3 years earlier.
Do you find that odd?
Bringing up the 2014 shooting just confuses the discussion, that's all. Showing Cruz with Perry, on the 2014 shooting, doesn't tell us what Cruz and Perry did in 2009, or between 2009 and 2014.
"Donald Trump" AND "Fort Hood"The first "hit" was this thread, and the next was the message.
She was obviously hoping he thought it was workplace violence.
After all, he is a lib.....
Sorry for the confusion.
It still doesn’t alter the fact that 3 years passed until the nascent political aspirations of Trump prompted him to tweet out concerns over Fort Hood.
You can put together a case, but don't expect everybody to hallucinate the same inferences that you do.
My title is more fair.
Comments are encouraged.
In other news - Perry (all hat no cattle) still butthurt over being bested by Trump.
GO TRUMP!
Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?
Well since he’s a private citizen and not a politician the question is moot. I’m sure he PRIVATELY condemned it as nearly everyone in the US did. But did he run in front of cameras like a politicians to get face time to express his opinion. Who cares?
You’re dead set on trying to wind me up.
: )
Have a good day.
I am just so sick of all of this infighting. Why can’t we stick to talking up our guy without talking down the other one?
