Rick Perry just endorsed Ted Cruz and I posted that news in a thread this morning. It's gotten over 100 comments.
On it I posted Rick Perry's comment in defense of Ted Cruz about the "New York Values" dust-up [Comment #84 at the link above].
[Rick Perry: "...."Mr. Trump took umbrage by Ted Cruz talking about New York values, and, you know, became very serious about - as we all were - what happened on September the 11th of 2001," he said. "We were all New Yorkers that day - don't get confused with that, but you know, I would hope there's enough humor in that person to understand that, hey listen, we all make fun of New York," he said. "I mean, come on, 'New York City? Get a rope.' Remember that ad, for the picante sauce?"]
I also posted a picture [Comment #52] of Rick Perry and Ted Cruz together at Fort Hood [Texas] in 2009 after Major Nidal Hasan in a terrorist attack left 13 Americans dead and 30 Americans seriously injured - the attack that Obama and his supporters called "workplace violence."
That Fort Hood picture, and Perry's comment defending Cruz on the "NYC Values" thing and the way it was reframed by Donald Trump and his campaign around the 9-11 attack on the Twin Towers - those 2 events - got me to wondering, did Donald Trump ever come out in support of Texas, the soldiers and/or denounce that terrorist act and the actions taken by the administration?
And is that a fair question to ask?
That would have been around this time:
“...As Trump publicly speculated about seeking the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released in March 2011 found Trump leading among potential contenders, one point ahead of former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney...”

I did. I don't get "tweet" references on Google.
Regardless, he didn't say anything for 3 years. Then when he was thinking about running, he started checking off boxes.
Did you see the year?
Why the 3 year gap between the attack and his support?
Why was he expected to comment then? Find something substantial and I will pay attention.
Then why in 2012 did he decide to bring it up?
CW at work again?
As reported here already on the Fort Hood shooter.
Trump WASN”T a candidate.

CW and other Cruz supporters here on FR and Glenn Beck are doing GREAT HARM to Cruz.
Trump should have been front and center on the Fort Hood shootings in 2009.
He took great offense and insult about 9-11 and NYC (and Cruz’s NYC values) - made a grand debate appeal about it, so I would expect with that level of “outrage” (and from the links you’ve found and posted) that there would be something from him around the time this happened in TEXAS in 2009.
But apparently not.
Neither 9/11 or the Ft Hood terrorism should be politicized.

Then why in 2012 did he bring it up?
I have no more certain answer to that than you do as to why he didn’t bring it up in 2009. Did every public figure make a public statement on it in a 2009? Doubtful, isn’t it.
However, I do remember frequent bouts of public anger about Obama still calling it workplace violence. Dont you?
The questions I asked were simply rhetorical. When you actually find something substantial to disqualify him from office let me know.
Yes he did, he talked about it in his rallies.
Give it up.
This stuff isn’t going to change anything because it is ridiculous.

They grasp at staws atop their mighty sanctimonious horses and wonder why people aren’t interested in following them.
Yes, he has also talked about that at some rallies. He is also concerned that our POTUS defend the Constitution by his actual eligibility.
I think it’s a file photo from around the time of the attack on Fort Hood.
Note: it is also used here and it is a 2014 story - because it shows Perry and Cruz together.
Mmmm. Baby seals.
I was wrong aboout the photo being from weeks ago, it carries a 2014 copyright. The shooting was on November 5, 2009.
