Sure we'd like a border that's secure, but do we want to expand ethanol subsidies that are already leading to damaged vehicles and the misuse of 40% of our corn crops which is paid for by the taxes we earn and pay?
Do we really prefer him handling the appointment of Supreme Court Justices rather then Ted Cruz? Especially when he thinks his sister who is an advocate for partial birth abortion would be a splendid nominee.
Are we comfortable that the likes of Bob Dole and several establishment insiders are now supporting him out of fear that "mean and nasty" Ted Cruz may bring constitutionality back to the White House?
I began this adventure with a lot of admiration for Trump's straight talk. But, I'm beginning to wonder.
I wouldn't trust Cruz's judgement re judges for SCOTUS, since he is an OLD FRIEND of Roberts, whom he pushed onto W, in 2000, to work on the HANGING CHADS stuff and for Chief Justice. How'd THAT work out for all of us?
Trump said that about his sister, long ago, he was just being "nice". Unlike YOU, he knows that his older sister is TOO old to advance as a nominee for such a position now. And psssssssssssst....she was a Reagan pick.
Cruz is still very wet behind the ears, has less experience than Obama had when he ran, and has little leadership qualities.
Are you being swayed what some people here post about Trump or some such, instead of believing your own gut feelings and what he says?
1. Ethanol subsidies are a pretty minor thing when it comes to all of the ills we face. Also, remember that Trump thinks outside the box (his campaign has proven that). I am sure that he is concerned about the financial hit Iowa would take over-all without the subsidies but I would bet that he would leave the subsidies only until he could find another way to replace the income to the area.
Jerry Falwell Jr introduced Trump at the Rally at Liberty U yesterday and told a story about Trump. He said that Trump heard on the news or 60 Minutes that a company in Iowa was moving to Mexico and it devastated the town.
Trump got on the phone with other companies and made arrangements for those companies to start buying from the other small businesses in that town.
I don’t remember all of the details but I believe he repeated the story on Hannity last night. Maybe there is a video of it.
2. I think Trump would handle the Supreme court appointments the way he handles his business. His children say he discusses everything with the group working on a project, they all have input and he listens, then a decision is made. So I think he would have a search team work on it and then they as a group would have input, and then decide.
He has already called on Jeff Sessions for his immigration plan and economists for his tax plan so he would surely call on experts for advise on Supreme Court appointments.
3. As far as Bob Dole is concerned I wouldn’t worry about anything he has to say. He might be trying to start something between Trump and Cruz, he might think if they take Cruz out his votes would go to Jeb or Rubio, or he might just be thinking they had better get on the train before they get run over.
Trump will handle them the same way he handled Nikki Haley trashing him. He isn’t going to insult her. He is going to have a friendly relationship with her but they both know he won’t forget and she won’t be invited to the White House often.

When asked, Trump said that Justice Clarence Thomas is his favorite on the Court. He was also very complimentary towards Alito and Scalia.
Trump’s older Sister, the Judge (could be retired?) you mentioned, testified for Justice Alito at his Conformation Hearing.
The Ethanol thing is not something I like, but anyone who thinks that Republican Senator Grassley or anyone who eventually takes his Seat would ever let Ethanol go away is delusional.

Oh for pete’s sake, Glenn Beck endorsed Ted Cruz and he is a real whacko bird. Stop trashing those who endorse Trump. I’m sure he didn’t ask for it, and from other reports I’ve read, he didn’t come out and endorse him anyway. He is just anti-Cruz. I read that he is a Bush guy.
With the problems we have in this country, ethanol is way down the list of priorities. Ted Cruz pushed for John Roberts - wrote a glowing op-ed about him. How’d that turn out for us? Think Obamacare.
I’m not sure Ted is even eligible to be president. This is debatable, and face it - he’s made so many enemies in the Senate, I doubt they would try to work with him. Use some logic in your thinking.
