Donald Trump has been trying to burnish his conservative credentials in his recent attacks on other Republican candidates. Despite his normal attacks on Lindsey Graham and Jeb Bush, he has now taken to attacking Ted Cruz, calling him an "ultimate hypocrite" and implying that he is ineligible to run for the Presidency.
Now it is revealed that Trump attacked current Kentucky Governor and former Senate candidate Matt Bevin. Before Bevin's victory last November he attempted to unseat Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in the 2014 Senate primary.

They are desperate and have their heads stuck in the sand when it comes to St. Teddy Bear, Soccer Ball, Cruz. Cruz did McConnell’s bidding when it came to joining in to destroy the TP candidates. Its out there for those who want to research it. However, these Cruzbots can’t go there because their candidate walks on water and turns water into wine, doncha know? He’s perfect - just perfect - in reality - he’s a big phony and if elected will be another GWB - you can take that to the bank.
I don’t think evangelical Cruz would be too proud of you dropping f bombs all over the place. Some of you Cruz Heads are losing it. Why? Because The Donald is going to win the nomination? Deal with it!

I think Sen. Cruz’ view is accurate and is consistent with the actual Constitution. I have a fairly long history here at FR (roughly 18 years), and one can readily find my views on the topic. I really don’t feel like rehashing them in your effort to deflect from the topic at hand.

OpenSecrets website shows that Trump gave McConnell $10,000 - not $50,000.

Ultimtely immigration is the issue now...(except for me abortion is #1). If Trump would build the wall and halt the invasion then I have to say everything that is wrong with him pales in comparison..and again...that is as long as I can really believe his abortion position. I know lots of people have changed their minds on this so I will take his word for it unless there is evidence otherwise.
Cruz and Rubio have both been wishy washy on immigration - I believe due to who is funding them. Also, they both have elgibility issues...and neither has decent experience for such a big job.
So who does that leave?
