These things are not complicated, however, they will require both willpower and action. They will not be things that happen on their own. In order to stay out of a camp, you must do something very important:
You must do things that others do not do, and you must not do what others do.
Let us run with this concept in a scenario:
Youâre in bedâ¦itâs a Saturday morning, and you donât have to go to any of your 3 jobs today until noon. Your battery-powered clock seems to have stopped at 5:15 am. Puzzled you hear the drone of jet engines, and all of a sudden the house seems as if it is shaking. You jump up and run to the front door and as you walk onto the front porch, all hell is breaking loose.
Your mind is playing, âFor Whom the Bell Tollsâ by Metallica as you look up and see dozens of aircraft flying West to East, disgorging sesame seeds that sprout parachutes by the thousands, all coming down into your neighborhood. âRed Dawnâ isnât playing: it is happening, and youâre in it. Your neighbors didnât bother to come wake you up; however, theyâre working on starting their cars, with no success. The paratroopers are landing, and a large crowd of people is running down Main Street to the tune of automatic gunfire in the distance. Yep, you guessed it! America has been invaded, and chances are you are not going to be handing out a Slurpee this afternoon.
Now what? You must fall upon the six laws of survival or else all could be lost.

For those who can and who have the strength of God’s grace within them...
Rule 1; Defend, feed, clothe and shelter those whom cannot fend for themselves.
Rule 2; Bring the Word of God to those who are lacking.
Rule 3; Be a beacon of hope
Rule 4; Take the right next step
Subset to Rule 1; should you be in a situation where you need to defend...do so without malice in your heart. Kill mercifully and quickly. Show mercy where mercy is asked.
You are seeing things as I am. At this time we have one of the most experienced Armed Forces in our history. I agree completely that Green Berets are specially developed for just what you’re talking about. Developing an irregular force to fight a guerrilla war.
I believe that there are enough men and boys that are sufficiently proficient with small arms to be trained as a fighting force. I also believe that the families of these men and boys would be supportive and provide the necessary intelligence to be a very active guerilla force. Something along the Swiss book called “total resistance”.
Nope. They're getting out, pulling the pin, and turning their backs on the political leadership that betrayed them. Which is not to say that if the American military is rebuilt that many won't come back; many loved their jobs and believed in the purpose for which they were sent. But if they do come back, many will still be very suspicious- and some will remain particularly bitter.

SF personnel call it *going operational*. Not only doing some routine or make-work Special Operations Command tasking, but doing the particular blend of military training and leadership by example that American Special Forces has honed to a fine working practical edge. And if it has to be utilized against a domestic enemy to the Constitution rather than a foreign foe; no matter. It's all in the oath we swore.

Von Dach's work [on .pdf, *here*] is among those on the required reading list at Ft Bragg. But there are more recent Swiss offerings as well, especially if you are proficient in languages other than English, which was part of the point about Special Forces.
And you might find an earlier FReeppost and response thread *here* to be of interest as well, in particular the second page of responses *here*.
Uff da!
I actually meant by combat experienced armed forces that includes those that are in the civilian populace. You never forget training, it has to be kept up but it’s not like starting over.
Kind of like my dad showing me how to field strip an M-1, M-14 and a .45.
I haven’t stripped down an M-1 but I think in a pinch I could still do it blindfolded. Hahahaha.
Just the point. A Special Forces A team [Operational Detatchment Alpha, or ODA] includes the light weapons specialists who'll give you the refresher training on how to use that old Garand and keep it running, at least until you can pick up something for which a former enemy has no further use...and which, thereby, you have a never-ending source of ammunition. Or, if things are slow, your SF radio team and S4 can arrange for an airdrop of all sorts of useful toys, along with chow, and a resupply for the medics' M5 medical kits.
If you can't still do it, it might be a good time to refresh your skills. One of these days, you might be the one who has to be the instructor.
