You knew it was coming!
Donald Trump said in an interview that rival Ted Cruzâs Canadian birthplace was a âvery precariousâ issue that could make the Texas senator vulnerable if he became the Republican presidential nominee.
âRepublicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: âDo we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?â Thatâd be a big problem,â Trump said when asked about the topic.
This is how Donald Trump operates: whenever he's threatened by someone in the polls, he tries to smear his opponents. He did so with Dr. Ben Carson, calling him pathological, and he now does the same with Ted Cruz by trying to convince voters he isn't eligible to become president because he wasn't born in the United States.
Sadly for the billionaire businessman, however, there is one minor problem: in September of last year he admitted that Cruz is eligible:
"From what I understand everything is fine. I hear that it [Cruz's eligibility] was checked out by every attorney, in every which way, and I understand that Ted is in fine shape."
As Mark Levin says: "Oh my."
It goes to show just how sad a man Trump is. He doesn't have actual arguments to use against Cruz, and so he makes it personal and utterly dishonest. The man has no scruples, no moral compass to guide his actions. He's just willing to do whatever it takes to become the Republican nominee; if he has to lie and smear to do so, he'll do it.

Trump was being polite and answering a question. He has stated the same thing about Cruz in the past. The media is trying to make this into a cage match.
And it looks like cruz jumped the shark and fell for it instead of letting it go.

Cruz needs to get written assurance in advance from a majority of supreme court justices that they will not permit any courts to meddle with his natural born status.
I know it sounds unfair, but we need to be assured that the supreme court will not allow political rulings by rogue justices.
Is that or is that not a reasonable suggestion? We cannot trust the federal courts.
I know...I hardly recognize the site anymore...
As I stated before, it should've been solved during the first Obama administration. Some sort of process should've been put in place to determine eligibility, before Obama's second run.
Now, because of Trump, Cruz will have to talk about eligibility, and get some sort of process in place for future elections.
What a complete crock! Trump has never said Cruz is not eligible to run. Trump has said the issue is precarious,,not that Cruz is a liar or anything like that. Trump is trying to say, and those with brain cells get it, that there is much hay to be made by anyone if they wish to churn up Cruz’s birthplace as an issue. Trump is not saying he agrees with it. He is saying he thinks it’s going to be an issue for Cruz.
The haters can’t stick with the truth so they have to twist. Getting really old.
Alan Grayson, nutcase from Florida, has already stated that he will sue Cruz as ineligible.
I support Trump but wish he would take a pass on any saying anything remotely negative concerning Cruz, Christie or Carson. Keep the focus on Clintons and Obama. Especially Obama, just keep going at him til he cracks in public.
What he said wasn't negative about Cruz, it was negative about DEMOCRATS!
I’ve said it before on this forum. Trump will make Obama look like a piker when it comes to the use of executive orders (JMHO). He’s not at all used to having 535 people decide which of his ideas can be implemented.
At 41% he’s desperate? Oooookay.
Aside from the fact that Trump doesn't drink, to accuse Trump and his current supporters of being 'non compos mentis' is beyond the pale when you consider the penultimate goal for Cruz would be to persuade Trump supporters to support Cruz.
This counter productive 'screw-loose-lu' approach is almost funny if it weren't so destructive. I am surprised that you haven't gotten a memo from his staff.
Is he literally peeing in his pants and dripping all over the TV set again?
This is YUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The media are just making things up now...
Grayson is a pretty successful lawyer who will serve as the attack dog on Cruz. Hillary will wash her hands and smile.
“... As I stated before [eligibility] should’ve been solved during the first Obama administration ...”
There should be no federal solution, only individual state solutions. We don’t want the federal government in control of something so powerful.
BUT ... the federal courts will one day meddled with eligibility if nothing is done to rein them in.
I hear you about not wanting the feds to meddle even more in our lives. But for President and VP? Those are the only nationally elected pols so you’d have chaos if every state could set its own rules. Eligibility for state and local office should be settled at the state level, of course.
Trump said months ago he personally thinks this is a non-ssue..here’s a quote to Jonathan Karl from last September
âNo, from what I understand everything is fine,â Trump said. âI hear it was checked out by every attorney and every which way and I understand Ted is in fine shape.â
Stop twisting.
Yeh because Libbylu has written 9 best selling books and built a development and real estate empire that makes Trump look like a cupcake.
OOPS,,nope!
