Donald Trump: The Tea Party Candidate
Canada Free Press ^ | 01/05/16 | Mike Henkins

Posted on 01/05/2016 6:45:53 AM PST by Sean_Anthony

Fighting against an entrenched Washington D.C. Establishment that refuses to give up the perks and power they feel entitled to and will use any means available to hang onto

The similarities between Donald Trump and the Tea Party movement are blazingly obvious. Perhaps that is why the Washington D.C. Establishment and its pundits either cannot make the connection or refuse to acknowledge it all together. It is not as if there is a lack of information out there for the Establishment political pundit to not have stumbled upon and made a connection. Nor should there be a problem with connecting the two together for an Establishment political pundit. Are not Mr. Trump and the Tea Party Movement considered unserious, uneducated, and unthreatening? You would think linking Mr. Trump and the Tea Party Movement would be each party putting the albatross around the neck of the other. But oddly, that has not happened. One can conclude that the connection between is purposely being ignored. Therefor I would like to put to the reader three similarities Mr. Trump and the Tea Party Movement seem to share.

1) Mr. Trump and the Tea Party Movement were once thought by the Washington D.C. Establishment as to be a fad that would fade away after few weeks. We saw this response published in almost every format pundits had access to present their views. When the so called “fad” failed to dissolve in the initial time frame predicted, they just changed the time frame it would disappear. Even as both Mr. Trump and the Tea Party Movement gained momentum they still insisted it would fade away. Yet not only have they outlived the repeatedly moved dates of departure, they gained more traction with each prediction.

People tend to lose sight of the fact that government lawyers - at least some of them - also have to defend their state or their nation from federal government overreach, i.e., defend the Constitution. Cruz has been one of that rather small group and has done so successfully.

The latest polls are actually showing Cruz doing better than Trump against the beast.

That may be entirely true, but please don’t pretend that Trump, probably the biggest real estate developer in NYC, the State of New York and one of the biggest in the nation, doesn’t have some very close relationships with the largest Wall Street banks himself. I respect the guy for managing to navigate some of the most burdensome city, state and federal regulations in the country and build a highly-successful multi-billion dollar business enterprise, but I’m not naïve enough to think that he didn’t do so without some “give and take” with Citibank, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, etc.

than Trump against the beast.

*********

I hope it stays that way and expands to include others. But the bottom line is
polls show one thing and actually getting them out to the polls on election day
can be another. Whomever is the nominee I hope the voters will go and vote for.

Heard Cruz’s new ad this morning. Something about building a Wall. Who is honing who again?

Uhh, that’s essentially what I said. By slapping the Tea Party label on Trump, they are trying to limit his support, hoping to scare away those who wouldn’t be caught dead supporting a Tea Party candidate. But this logic won’t work because Trump promotes ideas that appeal to most people regardless of party or subgroup and addresses the things that piss people off.

Fair points all. The uniparty is already clearly concerned about Trump’s appeal to Democrats and minorities, which they just don’t understand...

it's simply amazing how many so-called Freeper T.E.A. Party Conservatives act like star-struck Kardashian groupies towards Trump

freepers with few exceptions are notoriously cheap ... just look at how long the seemingly never-ending quarterly freepathons last. it's not a surprise to me they would flock to a candidate who promises to be self-funding.

Taxed Enough Already

Trump’s tax plan allows for low income earners to be free of taxes.

The problem with this is that if a certain class of citizens have no skin in the game, tax-free voters will only demand bigger government and will vote entirely for more big government...and more taxes (which others will pay, not them).

If everyone has to pay taxes, then everyone will want to pay less taxes, leading to smaller government.

They are honing each other. Cruz has always been strong on southern border security, from before Trump's candidacy. Cruz had emphasized manpower (putting the newly unemployed IRS agents on the border) but a wall was always implied. I imagine Trump's would be bigger, and have a cooler locked door, which gets him style points.

But even if Cruz were copying details from Trump's plan, isn't that better than stubbornly making no modifications whatsoever? Personally, the Sivana Wall would have a lot of turnstiles leading OUT, with no tax/passport checks. You should ALWAYS be free to leave the country. I don't particularly care if you have $10,001 in cash on your person.

Blacks have a whole year to stew about the "Social Injustice" and "White Privilege" of Bill Clinton when compared to Bill Cosby.

Blacks will stay home in droves or vote Trump.

The MSM will proclaim to be 'surprised' at the 'unexpected' turn of events.

One poll, within the margin of error, is not “polls”.

“freepers with few exceptions are notoriously cheap...”

Keep on belittling us, Cruz people.

Not enough church basements full of old women out there to make up for us not showing up if you insists on this smary crap.

I assure you the authors intent, clearly I think, is Donald Trump is the perfect Tea Party candidate. It was listed directly in the article. Not every person in the Tea Party Movement believes 100% with any candidate but Donald Trump is the one willing to bring them up and speak uncandidly about them. To believe otherwise would mean speaking about immigration is not a Tea Party issue. The A Tea Party Movement has been praying for someone to stand up to the media and Washington D.C. Establishment without fear. Now that there is someone you are complaining he is not the right guy. Sorry but the polls don't agree with you.

Ive been Tea Party since the first rally held in Augusta,ME.
