Houston Methodist Hospital Gives Chris Dunn Death Sentence for Christmas

The thing Houston Methodist Hospital officials want most for Christmas is the death of patient Chris Dunn. While most of us are preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ who healed the sick, Houston Methodist Hospital grinches are plotting to kill a patient. The former EMT who once worked to save lives now has to plea for his life with hospital administrators who have less compassion than Ebenezer Scrooge.

I’m sayin this w/all respect to Gov Abbott,
let’s contact him and ask for him to intervene as this individual’s life’s at risk due to this garbage legislation which also includes the TX probate codes for guardianship which they are also seeking.
-and guardianship trumps POA in TX.(and maybe in other states as well, but i can only speak of what goes on in TX)

I worked as a pro-life lobbyist previous to the signing of this legislation and warned those I talked to as to the possible end effect. I cited a possible circumstance such as the one Chris Dunn is now experiencing. Actually, we had to dig to understand it, by the way it was written it was not apparent exactly what the legislation would really do.

The people I talked to were understandably concerned and because we had a crew going around warning members of the Texas House and Congress about it, it did not pass that session. However, it did pass during the next session.

It is not a matter of not caring about it. It is more like what fire do we put out first? At the same time this certain bill was being discussed, there were at least two dozen other issues craftily-written bills to fight off. I did not work as a lobbyist during the session that passed this piece of legislation, but I can understand how it got missed.

It is sort of like the Cloward-Piven technique of overloading the system - where do you point the nozzle when there are fires in all direction?

This kind of stuff requires eternal vigilance.

and I don’t mean to put you on the spot so to say BUT you definitely KNOW MORE THAN ME and most likely a few others that are concerned and will act.

Chris Dunn died today.

According to court records: “Dunn suffered end-stage liver disease, gastric obstruction, pancreatic cancer, respiratory failure and gastrointestinal bleeding.”
