Mayor Landrieu created a firestorm, stoked racial divisions, and attacked the cityâs history, all to promote his political career.
Yesterday, in the âCity that Care Forgot,â New Orleans politicians displayed very little care for their cityâs history, but showed they cared a great deal for political correctness.
In a 6-1 vote, City Council members passed an ordinance supported by Mayor Mitch Landrieu to declare four historic Confederate monuments ânuisancesâ and remove them from the city landscape. It was a big political victory for Landrieu who created this controversy after the murder of nine African Americans in Charleston, South Carolina, by a racist white maniac in June.

Can I ask a stupid question??
Why is it that if a deranged white man shoots up a black church, the media and liberals are willing to say that it was a racist attack, motivated by racial hatred??
But if Muslims commit atrocities, the same media and liberals do not know what the motive was, and will never call it a Muslim inspired attack???
They’re just going to rename it “Bergdahl Circle”.
ISIS is busy eliminating relics and monuments of the past in the Middle East; Democrats are busy removing relics and monuments of the pat in the USA. The DNC and ISIS are so much alike its hard to tell them apart anymore
If you let the federal government “care” for you, they will soon “coerce” and “control” you.
Obama should have made that clear to anyone with half a brain.
The corrupt politicians continue to appease the PC crowd, their assumed supporters, while assaulting the patriots, their assumed non-supporters. As a result, the PC crowd, never happy, searches for more things that offend them while our society deteriorates before our eyes.
I suggested Babymomma Circle with a statue of a pregnant Lashaneeka and her 6 kids surrounded by armed drug dealers. It didnt go over well. Can’t figure why...it would represent the city perfectly.
No. It is not the Democratic party. It is the conquest of one demographic by another and the latter is eradicating all historical memories held by the vanquished.
There’s more than a few here at FR who support such attacks on Confederate history. And on Salem radio you have the likes of Michael Medved and Hugh Hewitt calling for the same thing.
Political Correctness, not just for Democrats anymore..
Show me someone who wants to vacation in New Orleans, I’ll show you someone who has never been there before.
The perfect statue for New Orleans: The Shoe Scam Man
Hopefully they will now erect a very large statue of General Benjamin Butler, who liberated New Orleans from Democratic and Confederate rule and occupation and returned it to the fold of the United States and Abraham Lincoln.
A thread from yesterday where I posted photos of the mayor and council members,
has 85 comments if anyone is interested in reading throug it.

Lee Circle no more: New Orleans to remove 4 Confederate statues
Gimme a break.
I guess Butler was the go-to guy for holding cities hostage.
Did it right away with Baltimore. Turning city guns on itself.
How would they react to replacing civil war statues with statues of NAACP founders? I’d bet you could get broad consensus for that until the same people who want to forget the civil war find out the NAACP founders were mostly white. It would be great to ADD rather than remove statues so we can remember more of the past and rather than less.
I say we ignore/deny everything that happened before 2008. Then a certain group of people (those who look like Obama’s children) won’t be able to blame their current situation on the past, or ask for reparations, or accuse me of being a slave owner (not that I ever was but they don’t care because they write history how they want it).
If they are goiing to have the ‘courage’ to tear down the monumments to Lee and other, then they can only be expected to show some courage to erect a monument to the then hated General “Beast” Butler. And show how diversified they are.
