Nazi comparisons in politics should not be thrown around lightly, but as one Jewish website noted; when a politician suggests following the actual path of the Nazis, it is time to be bold. It is for that reason, that over 10,000 American Jews have signed a âregistryâ to fight back.
The rhetoric from GOP front-runner Donald Trump has been growing increasingly more alarming and dangerous each day. From calling for a âregistryâ to track Muslims to proposing an outright ban on Muslim immigrants â the former reality television star appears to have actually crossed the line into total fascist demagoguery and hate speech.
In response, website vsGoliath â an initiative of Bend the Arc â has called on their readers to sign their names condemning the discrimination against the Muslim people. They wrote:
âThe idea that any group of American citizens should be singled out, profiled and discriminated against isnât only profoundly un-American. Itâs against everything that we stand for as American Jews.
Thatâs why weâre creating our own âregistryâ to fight back. We need thousands of American Jews to be courageous and stand up against Trumpâs terrifying plan. By acting quickly and acting together we can get the attention of national media and force Trump to be held responsible.
When we say ânever againâ we mean it.â
The letter to Trump calls on him to retract his statements and apologize immediately.
âDear Donald Trump,
When we say ânever againâ itâs not just about Jews, itâs about everyone.
As an American Jew, Iâm adding my name to our own âregistryâ in solidarity with my Muslim neighbors.
Thereâs no place for your rhetoric in American politics in the 21st century. Retract your statements and apologize immediately.â
Upon reaching 8,000 signatures, the letter/âregistryâ was delivered to the Trump campaign, and they say they will deliver it once again when it reaches 20,000. As of Thursday evening, 10,426 people had added their names.
The website also linked to an interfaith letter, for people of any faith to sign in solidarity. The interfaith letter in support of the Muslim community currently has over 13,000 signatures as well.
This is far from the first showing of support and solidarity from the Jewish community to their Muslim neighbors.
The Anti-Defamation League, one of the largest and most well-respected Jewish organizations in the country has been extremely vocal in denouncing the hate speech seeping from the republican leaders and pundits.
âIn the Jewish community, we know all too well what can happen when a particular religious group is singled out for stereotyping and scapegoating,â Jonathan Greenblatt, ADLâs CEO said in a statement. âWe also know that this country must not give into fear by turning its back on its fundamental values, even at a time of great crisis.â
The American Jewish Committeeâs director, David Harris, has also released a statement in solidarity with the Muslim community.
âAs Jews who are now observing Hanukkah, a holiday that celebrates a small religious minorityâs right to live unmolested, we are deeply disturbed by the nativist racism inherent in the candidateâs latest remarks,â Harris said. âYou donât need to go back to the Hanukkah story to see the horrific results of religious persecution; religious stereotyping of this sort has been tried often, inevitably with disastrous results.â
Other groups such as J Street, the National Jewish Democratic Council and JAC, have also spoken out against the hateful rhetoric, to name a few.
While Trumpâs passionate hate and fear mongering is most certainly bringing out the worst in many Americans, it is undeniably also bringing out the best in others, and love will always defeat hate.
Jews are first on the list for the Muzzies to attack. But they never seem to learn...
....and yet they voted for Obama. The most anti-Israel President we’ve ever had.
What an utterly disgusting move by this group.
BTW who the hell are they again?
10,000 seems like it would be a pretty small subset of the total number of left-leaning Jews.
There are still a lot of Jews who never learned from the mistakes of their ancestors.
I just don’t get it. Is that what self-hating looks like?
If the Jews don’t see a threat from Islam, they are deaf, blind, and suicidal. Surely Israelis know better.
Never again!
But go ahead and take out guns
And shut down freedom of speech
And import muslims who were ALLIES of the Nazis in WWII. So much so that they formed three (3) Muslim Waffen SS Divisions and killed off most of the Jews in Yugoslavia...
This generations Kapos have been heard from.
Look at the Jews openly attacking Israel. They don’t realize that’s the last place they’ll have to run when the SHTF?
I’m still voting for the W.A.S.P.
What a pack of dummies. More oppression fantasies from some of the wealthiest most successful people in the country. What other country has been as good to the Jewish people as America? And considering that Trump is more Jewish than Jewish as Jackie Mason once said to my goyishe husband, what don’t they recognize in his fast-talking, humorous, hard-charging, dynamic demeanor?
Jews are generally the smartest people in the world, but occasionally they get something wrongheaded and backwards.
Islam is currently winning the Demographics war through fecundity and Hegira. (Moving into non Islamic areas until they have sufficient population to take over the place.)
If Islam is not stopped, the Jews are very well going to get it again.
As a matter of fact, I read that Hitler got the extermination idea from the Muslims. That it was the Muslims who suggested it to him. They are still suggesting it, and I for one believe that they mean to do it if they are able.
Don’t these Jews get it?
They were singled out for the simple fact that they were Jews.
Trump is singling out Muslims because a group of them want TO KILL US in the name of Islam.
Big difference.
.
I love Jackie Mason. I actually have his autograph, which I bought (along with others) from a dealer.
Well, bless their little hearts.
The reason the the Jews are singled out in the Koran and Hadiths is when Muhammed fled Mecca with his small group he did not have much interaction with Jews in Mecca. When they got to Medina it was a heavily populated Jewish place.
The Jews in Medina weren't buying into Muhammeds new religion and gave him a hard time.
Muhammed singled the Jews out as the more offensive Kafirs that Allah wanted killed. That is reflected in the Koran and Hadiths.
The dumb Jews still think to this day, they can talk their way into a peaceful coexistence with Muslims.
As if the Muslims will turn their back on Allah and change their religion to accommodate us Kafirs like Jews. - Tom
So 10,000 Jews are going to vote for Hillary, a slut of the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS?
Those who remember the Holocaust should remember the concept of the “Big Lie”.
He never said that!
NOBODY hates Trump more than I do. I hate everything about him. Always have. Now more than ever. But he never called for a Muslim registry. But it doesn’t matter. We live in a post reality based world.
Trump has called for a MORATORIUM on Obama’s apparent
frenzy to bring in thousands of these Muslim “immigrants”.
“MORATORIUM” does NOT mean forever. It does mean, “Whoa!
Wait a minute until we get our bearings and tweak our
methods BEFORE we allow more like the two “immigrants”
that got past the gates of immigration and pulled off the
terrorist attack in California just the other day! -
What IS Barack Hussein Obama’s all-fired hurry to get
this Muslim “immigration” agenda executed?!
Most of the photos of this HORDE of “immigrants” out of
Syria & other terrorist breeding grounds are photos of
a majority of MILITARY AGE Muslim MALES! Moving in endless
lines! With just a few WOMEN & CHILDREN sprinkled in!
(The WOMEN & CHILDREN Obama trumpeted and shamed us for
“fearing”.) I repeat - MIGHTY FEW WOMEN & CHILDREN!! Long
lines of MILITARY AGE MALES!
Further, the way Muslim terrorists like to use women &
children for their suicide bombings; even Obama’s chiding
and scolding has a strange & puzzling hollow ring to it.
