May I remind John sKerry that it is existing federal law (8 USC) that anyone associated with the Nazi Party and the Holocaust, despite the passage of time, is permanently ineligible to enter the United States.
May I also remind John sKerry that one's political affiliation is, just like their religious affiliation, a voluntary matter.
And may I further remind John sKerry, along with the mainslime media and the other so-called "candidates" who are evidencing a desire to see terrorists attack Americans on American soil, and thus should be run out of town on a rail, that only a very small number of persons actually were directly involved in imprisoning, torturing and murdering Jews during WWII, yet the ban on entry into the United States, which has been upheld as both Constitution and is codified in Federal Law, extends to anyone in that class irrespective of the depth of their involvement. In other words you can be (and people have been) excluded for such things as being a Mayor of a town during Nazi occupation, being a deputy to a Mayor or being employed by a police force -- you do not have to have actually participated in any crime against any person. Further, you can be deported or denied entry (and people have been) for being an anarchist or having been an editor of a pro-Axis newspaper. One need not act, one need only espouse beliefs incompatible with our republican form of government.
Therefore, on the manifest and evident presence of existing federal law, which establishes that entry into the United States for other than citizens is a privilege and not a right, with said privilege being able to be granted or not on any material and reasonable security or political basis, therefore permits the very distinction that Trump is drawing.
We can (and should) have a legitimate debate over exactly where those lines are and what constitutes a violation. As just one example found in Islam apostasy is a formal crime; this cannot be squared with the First Amendment's guarantee of religious freedom. It is therefore evident that a person who adheres to such a belief -- that refusing to follow or insulting a particular religious path is a criminal offense -- has committed an act of exclusion under long-standing existing law.
Trump is not proposing anything other than application of the law as written and practiced over the last two hundred plus years, and in fact this nation has deported and stripped citizenship from multiple people for exactly this sort of violation not only historically but very recently as well.
Those of you on the other side of this are wrong. You're wrong on the facts, you're wrong on the law and you're wrong on the implications of such a policy.
It is in fact not only good but necessary to exclude from entry into the United States those who hold beliefs that are incompatible with our secular Republican form of government and the rights delineated in our Constitution.
sKerry remains a misinformed, traitorous mess...albeit a very wealthy one.
“albeit a very wealthy one.”
In a sane world, Lurch would be quite content in having hit the financial jackpot by marrying into his wife’s fortune. He could spend his golden years getting all the plastic surgery he wants, wind surfing and hobnobbing with other blue bloods in the NE, riding his bicycle all day long, or whatever he damn well wants to do. But NO! He insists upon remaining politically active, doing his best to turn not only our nation into some turd world hell hole, but also destroying our relations with other countries simply by default of being the screwed up douche bag he is.
While he remains a traitor and loser in life, his alcoholic wife must be locked away & drinking heavily.
But but Hillary says Trump is daaaaangerous and playing into terrorist hands. What a fearmongering witch.
No one has a “constitutional right” to come to this country
Well stated by Denninger! Most Western countries can and should apply the same logic.
Bump.
