There is a statue of a warrior from Brittanâs distant past that sits opposite the United Kingdomâs Parliament. It is in clear view of the politicians who run the UK. They see it each day as they enter their chamber to create new excuses for running away from the Muslim invaders destroying their country.
The statue is of Boudica, a courageous female warrior. She dedicated her life to leading a ragtag army of British tribesmen in a doomed revolt against the Romans who invaded her home island almost two thousand years ago. Boudica saw her husband murdered and her daughters raped by the invading Romans and decided to fight back. She could not stand by and do nothing.
All three of these women make up the figures on this famous, but lately ignored, reminder of a time in British history when some people would not merely roll over and die when attacked.
The words âRegions Caesar never knew Thy posterity shall sway,â are inscribed on the base of the piece. If only this were true!
In about 60 AD Boudica was the queen of the Iceni tribe when she decided to fight Rome, which had assembled the most powerful army in the world. For a few months she and her small but determined army chased, harassed and killed more Romans than logic dictated she should have been able to. Nice - never heard of her. Have to read more about her.
That Rome had a few bad Generals does not make budica a winner.
“Quintilius Varus, give me back my legions!’ comes to mind.
Boudicea would not be weeping, she’d be stomping their guts out!
Bodacious!
I read somewhere that perhaps her remains have been found underneath Charring Cross Station!
Charing Cross.
Possibly under a McDonalds in Birmingham or at Kings Cross Station.
You might want to read up on Cartimandua also.
One thing about England, when you are there you can feel the history at almost every step. Now with the influx of non-melding religions and peoples, you get the feeling that their future history will not be happy.
"Roman drills were bloodless battles, Roman battles were bloody drills."
Check out Boudicca final battle. Seven minutes long, with the reason why she lost starts at 2:25.
The Romans, with less than 10,000 men, slaughtered 80,000 of Boudicca's 230,000. The Romans lost 400 men, demonstrating once again the difference between an armed mob and a well-trained army.
Forced to watch her husband murdered and her daughters raped. Sounds like she had the full islamic experience.

Only it was the Romans.
Too bad the article has been removed. I know I read it back then but I was going to refresh my mind and re-read it, it’s gone.
But yes, Boudica was quite a gal. If she were here today she would’ve been still the warrior on this I’m sure.
Same as.
