Elvis Summers has made it a full time job to put a roof over the head of some of Los Angeles’ homeless people by building tiny homes for them.

He is helping people in need before the holidays so that they can have a home before the temperatures drop.

Summers expressed fear that without shelter, people who were living on the streets would die...

For the most part, people are homeless because of alcoholism, drug abuse and mental illness. If you truly wanted to solve homelessness, you would mitigate substance abuse and mental illness. Living in a doghouse does not address the underlying causes. There was a time when troubled people were institutionalized and taken care of. Now, they are “main-streamed”, which really means they are treated like street refuse.

This is the result of Leftist policy. Dump these folks on the street and they blamed it on Reagan. Now, since there is a RAT president, they blame it on our way of life. And their solution? [Which was their goal from the beginning.]-— “Social Justice” requiring more social engineering, spending, and government power.

“Homelessness” is a strategy. IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE SOLVED!!Homelessness is just another facet of the LEFT’s radical goal of transforming America. The aim is to shred our civil society and replace it with totalitarian “SOCIAL JUSTICE”, or the more precise term, COMMUNISM. We are running out of time.

I used to work at the famous theme park, in Anaheim, a magnet area for panhandlers. I knew a few cops, they all validated the stories of known beggars who would end their day driving away in a luxury car, or admitting to the cop that they earned more that day, than I did, tax free . . .

They can’t possibly have bathrooms, running water or electricity. But they have wheels, so when he sidewalk gets messy just push it on down the street to a clean spot.

I am all for helping the homeless but I see this as not such a good way to do it.

Why am I giving money (taxes and out of pocket to Chaities)/ No, I’ve had it. Nobody is “helping” me because I do it myself. I DO help people who try to themselves without government intervention but I give them a stern talking to.

I think a lot of them are beyond help. There was a homeless man that I passed often at a certain corner. I had given him a few dollars over several months. Then one day he was standing there with a huge new facial tattoo. I thought about all the money I had given him going to pay for that tattoo and I got furious.

A few weeks later he has a bandaged foot. A few more weeks go by and the foot has been removed above his ankle and he is in a brand new wheel chair.

One day he was gone. As dirty as the bandage became over a few days it is not surprising that he died of a massive infection.What should we do with people like that?

What should we do with people like that?.....In the 70’s and 80’s, there was a hell of a push by lefties to shut down the Mental Institutions, all for the profit of Trial Lawyers. I worked at Philadelphia State Hospital in 1988 and was appalled at the people they threw out on the street in order to adhere to Court orders. I saw a doctor at the end of the timeline handing out glassine bags of drugs to patients and saying “You are cured.” They kicked them out door. A couple jumped into KOO-Koo river, many got run over and the people who gave them substandard living spaces called us and said “He’s shiiting on the sidewalk.” I told them “He/she is not a CLIENT here” (You could NOT refer to them as patients). Deal with it.

The houses are very small and on wheels.

So they can very easily be moved around like a hot dog cart.

This is the first one Elvis built for a 60yr old woman.

Says he spent $500 plus donated materials from building supply companies.

You must be thinking of one of these push carts with swivel front wheels and large diameter rear wheels. Add the umbrella and signs and it's the old style NYC Dirty Dog stand.

If you've ever seen one being moved on the street then you know that the men have to lean heavily to move the cart and can barely move them up a very slight grade. Not to mention trying to stop one. The newer gourmet style is double and triple this size and are on trailers, as in need a truck to be moved.

Now imagine an unhealthy 60 year old woman trying to move this behomoth with it's hand truck castors through an intersection without being able to see in front of it or around it.

This is a bleeding hearts feel-good project with many unintended consequences, most of them unpleasant.

Elvis is also ignorant of basic construction techniques and materials. Probably only has an electric saw and drill.

And if his main concern was the poor woman freezing to death, in Los Angeles!.... maybe he should have thought to includes some insulation behind the flake board.

I'll leave it to others to figure out the dangers from other derelicts and bad guys....

For many being homeless is a choice, they chose to be homeless by pissing everyone off who was in a position to help them, out of “pride.”
